Fontaines DC at Alexandra Palace last night. Decent enough show, but percentage wise they must have the most twats/wankers/knobheads following them of any other band. Loads of moustache and mullet combo's and a lot of 40+ blokes openly snorting coke. Why people pay £50 for a ticket and then want to face away from the stage and waffle on for the whole thing I don't know. It's not a gig venue either. Sound was shit. A pain in the backside to get to as well. So much so that I pre booked a Bolt back to Eltham afterwards and was home in 45 minutes

I agree with you about the Ally Pally. It’s a terrible venue to get to and see a band. I have to really want to see a band to go there.
Completely agree. Awful venue for sound and transport. Problem is I can’t think of another 10k venue in London. Brixton academy too small, Wembley / o2 too big. Going to see idles next Friday, one of the only live bands that would get me to ally pally.

I was going to go but didn't for the above reasons. I went to Shepherds Bush Empire instead and saw The Clone Roses, Oasish, The Smiths Ltd. It's the 2nd time I've seen these acts and they are a bloody great night out.
Impressive performance from Porridge Radio at the Electric Brixton. They have really matured from a great small venue band to the next level. Looking forward to seeing them again at Brighton on Saturday.
Saw "Space" last night at the O2 Islington. Tommy Scott still has a wonderful voice - he enjoys every moment on stage and his audience interaction is wonderful. A brilliant gig.
I’m looking forwards to watching Lisa O’Neill at the Barbican next week, I really love her ‘all of this is chance’ album. Such a unique voice n spinner of stories and atmosphere.
So, Confidence Man last night. MsAA has problems standing at the moment so we were in the stalls. You really need to be up and moving to enjoy this band so whilst they were on form, the evening wasn’t great.
Whilst many of you were suffering, I was at Hammersmith watching Paul Heaton. Top stuff. He introduces his band by name, instrument and team supported. So hello Tony Chapman (I think), keyboards, Charlton Athletic. Got a decent cheer in the building, to be fair.

Went Paul Heaton last night, thought he was fantastic, enjoyed The Zutons far more than I was expecting.
Not a gig goer, think this was only the 2nd time since Madness 1995 I’ve stood in an indoor venue! My god, would I ban camera phones!
When he did the bands football teams hearing Charlton was unexpected and we gave a massive cheer. The bloke standing next to me also gave an Up The Addicks and turned out to be a fellow fan. Bonkers really that it’s gone to the point I think it’s a massive coincidence bumping into another Charlton fan in London!
On the camera phone thing, at Bob Dylan earlier this year all phones had to go in a pouch that was sealed, easy to unseal if you went out but in the show itself, the house stewards keeping an eye out. Much better atmosphere. The bloke near me had the good grace to turn the brightness on the display al the way down, so that's something, but I think they are a real intrusion ino enjoying the event. But I am very old, so there's that.

Must be hard seeing over all them people mate... I agree with you on the camera phones though!
Anyone got any experience of the VIP options available for The Hyde Park summertime gigs?
My daughter wants to see Sabrina Carpenter but after being to a few shows there over the years, am not prepared to put up with the crap experience, with ridiculous queues for everything being the worst part.
More interested in better facilities than the view of the stage.

Stop with those comments. A month or so ago a discussion had to be closed because of similar ones.

Was there last night aswell. What a great concert. Thought Rianne Downey was brilliant too. Haven't really followed The Zutons too much but really liked them. Couldn't believe it when he said the keyboard player was a Charlton fan. Think I cheered that with more gusto than I've cheered anything at the Valley this season.

Very good gig 8/10.

Excellent live and they always mix the setlist up.
