Unlucky two weeks running. Hopefully it will even itself out between now and the end of the season. I still predict we don't get beaten again this season, but we need a series of wins. We also need Watt to score. I'm staying positive, managers and players are now celebrating drawing with us, so things must be on the up. Out of us and `Millwall for that 6th place.
Hope you're right but there's another 6 teams between us and Millwall that might have a run at a playoff place.

Nothing to do with luck.
Absolutely nothing to do with luck. Good teams get a 2nd or 3rd goal in the match.
All been said before - mediocre game just like last week, and the week before, and the week before that,,,,,,
Cant blame the defence for letting in a goal - its up to the strikers to score more than one........ooops, I forgot, we haven't any strikers !! Novak should at least got his 2nd half effort on target instead of hitting the side netting from 6 yards & even the 1st half effort he could have tried going round the keeper or putting it low down than trying to chip him. Watt is wasted out wide & MaGennis is not yet fully fit.
Cant say that in all my 40 years of supporting this rabble that they have given me so much angst, I'm sure we'll find another way next week of throwing points away.
what a shambles/
BTW - I was near the lino incident & didn't see anything land near him at all. saw him drop his flag & rub his head. but thats all
Was at the game.... Before anyone who omplained about not getting tickets for this match you were the lucky ones. I will never visit this shit hole again. Next year when they visit the valley give them seats outside. They will get a better view than i did today.
Spent most of the game ducking and weaving just to gert a view, this after being escorted to the ground by horses showing my ticket twice, before your searched at the turnstile, get a hole punched in it then some other clod tears the strip off, then you then have to battle past your own dicks of fans who become statues when you are trying to pass them, not take there spot.

Yeah. We've been unlucky on 20 occasions this season. It has absolutely nothing to do with being under funded by the crackpot owner.
DaSilva looks like one of those RD signings where the manager doesn't actually want him. It kind of smacks of "here you go" when we sold Lookman, but surely if Robinson wanted him he would be playing him now.
Just watched the one minute of Sky "highlights", and the sending off of Elliot is a joke decision.

Joke in what way?
Didnt see his goal as didnt see most things, but one thing i did see as it was parallel to me, was when he took tex out with his elbow ref bottle as usual.... They dont seem to bottle though when its our players though.
Since I am getting stick from my buddy Kevin Rye, (SD and AFCW bod) can anybody update us on the alleged coin-throwing? Said on match thread that it wasn't as initially reported.
Commentary said initially they thought it was a coin. But then said there was no evidence of anything being thrown. Nothing on the floor etc. Then said he was joking with the fans behind him during a break in play soon after so didn't think it was anything serious.
Was in the home end - can't remember watching two teams that bloody bad - Christ it was Sunday league
Aerial bombardment by Wimbledon. Wouldn't pay to watch that week in week out.
Novak missed an open goal and failed to lob the keeper in the first half. Watt had a screamer well saved. We should have gone two up. Sorry, but Novak isn't really good enough. Josh needs another game.
@se9addick Hold on, Wimbledon have apologised and said action will be taken against the groundsman.
He brought on Botaka and Mavididi in attempt to stop an all out attack by Wimbledon. Both provided a threat, with their pace. Watt had an excellent game, but was tiring. Not sure about Holmes. Would have left him on. Gutted.
@JamesSeed had they made that statement before I'd made my comments ? If so then I should have included it (I genuinely didn't know they had issued a statement on their groundsmans behaviour).

I think Millwall will finish above 6th to be honest. They always finish the season strong and had a good window bringing in Jed Wallace and losing no key players.
More hope of catching Bradford (who like us could be held back from going up due to an inability to score enough goals) & stuttering Fleetwood (who've drawn the last 3).
Problem is we're 10/11 points off the above teams already so obviously need wins. Anything less than 4 wins in our next 5 Feb games against Oldham, Rochdale, Oxford, Bury & Shrewsbury and it'll be too late......season finishes early in April this year.

I think so, yes. I think any large coins would have been seen, as he was scouring the grass. Maybe it was a 1p which is more likely to he hidden by the grass? He got some stick for a bit because it happened in front of some hardcore types, some of whom's general behaviour was possibly inspired by our Burmondsey brethren. Tbh the lino had an excellent game after that. After half time someone shouted something along the lines of 'pull your finger out' and he replied "give me five minutes!". After that, he had an easier time of it. One fan continued loudly shouting the word that appeared on the Wimbledon banner (in reference to KR) at him quite a lot, and offered to meet him after the game. I mentioned to him that I thought the lino was actually having a good game since the incident. Luckily I think I got away with it.

It's a pony division and unfortunately/unluckily we don't seem out of place in it
0% Top two ......... 15% 3rd-6th ......... 65% 7th-12th ......... 20% 13th-20th ......0% relegation
Spot on. Read on here all the time how crap this division is and how we need to get out of it quickly!! Bottom line is, we are in it because we currently succumb/subscribe to that level of 'crapness'. At present, we just ain't that great, that's why we are in this so called 'crap' division and are not pulling up any trees during our residence at the moment.
Oh, and by the way; yes, I 100% blame the current Muppetry that presides over our club.

Basically we need to average two points a game to have a reasonable shot at sixth (with 74 points). Yesterday took us below that from the seven games since Christmas (13 points), but a win at Oldham will put us back there, and four points to follow from Rochdale and Oxford would keep us there.
It gets very difficult if we lose a few matches and since the two point average now leaves no margin for error later, we really need to reel off a sequence of three or four wins sooner rather than later. There isn't going to be a better opportunity, even though four of the next six matches are away.
If you want to dissect their equaliser, I'll start..
Here you can see the Wimbledon attacker jumping for the ball, who eventually wins the header and flicks it on over his left shoulder. Bauer is the defender who goes to attack it, but miss times the jump. Tex's body shape is all wrong, he isn't reading the play at all, and instead anticipating the ball to either be won by Bauer or flicked on towards Solly, he needs to be slightly more square on in this situation. The gap between Tex and the next defender to his left is far too big, the closest is actually Magennis and next is Chicksen. If they both shift 3 yards closer, reducing that space, the interception would have been easily achieved. Magennis is also watching the ball and the play, he has no idea where Elliott is behind him, this is where Chicksen needs to be communicating with him and also anticipating the flick on in his direction, just as Elliott has.
Once Barnett has won the header, Bauer is now out of the game. He can't do anything to prevent the goal once he has mistimed the jump. Tex is still facing the wrong way, and instead of swivelling and changing direction to head towards the ball, he is clearly shouting at someone (Magennis or Chicksen) to go and get it instead. By which time his reaction to try and get there is now too late. Magennis is flat footed and on his heals, still totally unaware Elliott behind him, this is where Josh needs to read the play and go to clear that upfield. In my opinion, just because he is a striker doesn't mean you can use that as an excuse, he knows how to play the game. Chicksen has now let Elliott run passed him, get goal side and is facing the total wrong direction, as you can see there is now only going to be one winner to get to the ball first.
Unlucky two weeks running. Hopefully it will even itself out between now and the end of the season. I still predict we don't get beaten again this season, but we need a series of wins. 2 pts per game would probably be enough in a league where nobody, aside from the top 2, show any real consistency, but that's a nasty sequence of games: Rochdale, Oxford, Scunny, Bradford and Sheffield Utd - by the time the ref blows the final whistle at Bramall Lane on March 18th we'll have a better idea of just how competitive the team is. At least the run in sees us play clubs in the bottom 6 or 7, and Coventry, and even Chesterfield, might already be gone by then.
In the next scene, as you can see and said already, Bauer is out of the game, he can't do anything now. The distance between Tex and the ball is ridiculous considering he is meant to be the second ball defender, this is because he was too slow at adapting to the situation, he needs to be 4/5 yards closer, this could prevent Elliott from getting off a shot. Magennis has stood in the same position, he hasn't moved or anticipated it at all. Complete unaware of his surroundings, he has still let Elliott run passed him and into the box, he hasn't followed where the ball went nor has he helped close the space and danger from getting closer to Tex. Chicksen is now also out of the game, having already let Elliott get goal side of him, he has too much work to do now to catch up and stop him getting a shot off. He also should've been speaking to Magennis beforehand and seen where the danger was, that space that was left open.
Perfect, but painful analysis. Solly looks like the only player in the correct position. The rest are having a nightmarish 'Oooooooooo nooooooooooooo my feet are stuck to the ground by treacle' moment.
Just as Elliott is about to get a shot away, you can see that Chicksen has made a fantastic effort of trying to recover and get back into the position he should be. It is unfortunately all too late. The fact he didn't tell Magennis (who is still motionless on the edge of the box having not done anything to prevent the goal) that there was a player behind him, the fact he let him get goal side and run passed him, meant he had far too much work to do. Tex has moved all of about 5 yards in that time, Elliott around 10-15 yards, this shows a lack of anticipation and the fact he had about 3 positions to cover, in the end, he covered none of them.
The simple fact is, it was a catalogue of errors with a total lack of communication, awareness and defensive positioning. You don't have to win every header when you're being aerially bombarded, you can do it perfectly well with the right shape and organisation with everyone understanding the job they're there to do.
I hope this gets picked up on and analysed, because it's these simple things that happen so often that clearly cost us points.
Unlucky two weeks running. Hopefully it will even itself out between now and the end of the season. I still predict we don't get beaten again this season, but we need a series of wins. But it's not just the points we are relying on a number of teams to lose form and us to leap frog them. I'll believe we can do it till we can't but ......
I think Tuesday's round of fixtures where a lot of the top ten teams are playing each other, will give us a clearer idea what we need to achieve, I believe anything less than a win at Oldham, will see an end to our play-off hopes.
There you go Roland, I'm a qualified coach and have demonstrated some knowledge, now where is my job offer..?
What you have illustrated is League One standard players, who make mistakes. If they were better players, they'd be earning more money at a higher level.
It also illustrates weaknesses that the manager and the coaching staff should be eradicating in training, by working on better organisation. However, is a League One standard manager and coach capable of doing so? If they were better coaches, they would be earning more money at a higher level.
So we have League One standard players managed by League One standard coaches. If you want to get out of this League, you need to sign Championship standard players, and have a Championship standard manager, who understands what's required. Powell turned out to be of that standard, as did his signings in Stephens, Kermorgant, Morrison, Wiggins, Hamer, BWP, Cort, and others, alongside Solly who was already here.
Unless we go back to that template, we ain't going anywhere. The latest manager can talk himself up as much as he likes and try to heal the club, but we ain't going anywhere by selling our better players and replacing them with loans.
We are treading water as a club, with an owner telling us it's not about results, it's about the social atmosphere. Winning and losing is irrelevant.
Unlucky two weeks running. Hopefully it will even itself out between now and the end of the season. I still predict we don't get beaten again this season, but we need a series of wins. Not really. We're just relying on them to perform to the mean, which isn't two points per game - we just need them to carry on doing what they have been doing to date. For example, Millwall have 47 points from 30 games, which is a bit more than 1.5 points per game but well under two. If they carry on at that rate they will pick up 72 in total. If Charlton add 34 from 17 they will have 75.
Now I think Millwall may do better than that and Fleetwood worse (or they would get 76), but we don't generally need a decline in other teams' form. We need an improvement in ours without a corresponding improvement in others'.
That's not a prediction, BTW, it's just the maths!

Stonewall pen for me at the end which could have killed the game off and then they go and score from their only chance
