  • I would love to know the real story of his time here.
  • Why did he go to Qatar anyway? Is their medical technology that much better than either in the UK or his native France? It's not as if he's returned home for treatment

There is a specialist there that all the pros go to when nothing else works.

I doubt many pros go and live there for 12 months (or whatever)!

I wonder if the Saudi led sanctions against Qatar have influenced his decision....

Best ask Henry to invite him along to the next Bromley Addicks meeting......

Maybe he thought getting treatment and living in a warm climate in a country that speaks arabic would be better for him than living in south london? I'm sure we'll find out one day if/when he's ever seen at a Charlton game.

This was exactly my thinking. Comes back now the sanctions in place, can't get his drink on in Dubai anymore.
  • This is just a story of bad luck - the player looked decent and had no serious injury issues before signing for us. The length of time he has been out makes it harder to come back as the player we hope. We can just wish him the best and hope it does.
  • looking back to that Peterborough league cup game in August 2015 just under two years ago when Kashi scored from near the half way line this was the line up

    Pope
    Charles-Cook
    Bauer
    Sarr
    Lennon
    Harriott
    Ba
    Cousins
    Bergdich
    Ahearne-Grant
    Kennedy

    Substitutes
    Kashi
    Berg Gudmundsson
    Vetokele
    Fox
    Mitov
    Muldoon
    Thomas
  • I'll be surprised and delighted if Kashi can get himself back to fitness and make a real contribution for us. Being realistic, however, the odds must be heavily against that.

At a minimum, I hope the player can sort out his injury and continue with his career, even if it's not in SE7.

I think he did have previous with injury.. so hadn't played that many games for a couple of seasons, then being asked to play 2-3 times every week just broke him.

Thought he was a great player and possibly the best the regime have brought in, such a shame.
  • I would like to have a little more faith in our medical department and that they introduce him back slowly and at a rate that he can manage. He has the potential, when fully fit, to be the outstanding player in league one.

All the best Ahmed and may you get back to your best and remain fit and healthy.
  • What Karl Robinson has said about Kashi is very promising. I hope he's not feeding us a load of crap but he will be vital next season if what the boss says is true.
  • I too was heartened by the Kashi comments at the end of the interview. I haven't a clue as to Kashi's physical state, but his mentality as a player in what I saw of him was second to none.
There was comment about the new deal for Pearce being about a talisman, if there is any potential genuine talisman around the club, in my view that man is Kashi.

Agreed. I know you're on the fence, but I would add JFC to that list.

I think that Pearce has the makings of a future club captain. Comes across as very nice and down to earth on social media, for whatever that's worth. Seems a leader on the pitch. I think he's slightly overrated by some (he's not very good with the ball at his feet), but I think he would do a good job as captain.
  • If AK is anything like fit & strong enough to play he'll shine like the sun in this craphole division. In an unfamiliar team in unfamiliar surroundings he stood head and shoulders above everyone in the division above. My fingers and toes are all crossed he is part of the squad this season.
Case for: he was signed two years ago when latrine and co were flinging money at any old crap so he must be on decent championship money: ergo he's expensive to move on just like Tex and Sarr (ffs!!); he looked like a player and a grafter, leopards don't change their spots.
Case against: the fat scouse gobshite likes "his" players, if he's not already convinced AK is for him then he ain't open-minded enough to find out otherwise, we can take nothing from the recent interview cos KR spouts relentless drivel; roly has his price for all the players and will agree to sell anyone/anything at the drop of a hat; if roly/latrine/tony cobblers/tommy underpants/whoever decides AK is to be moved on they'll try to force it just like they did with MM and Solls; squad numbers, costs, balance aren't up to the manager so much as the whims of the septuagenarian shit4brains and whatever biorhythms, runes, divining rods, tarot, BS method the mad old git is using at the time.
I'd love to see Kashi have a crack at division 3, I'm sure he'd be a star. Sadly, even if he's up to it physically I think there are too many malign forces at work to allow that to happen. I hope I'm wrong and we all know what hope does...
  • Either way he looks bloody delighted to be back!!

  • That's at my university in the anatomy room, that bodpod is class.
  • What does a bodpod do?
  • He certainly looks to be in shape and ready to get back into things.

  • Is it me or does anyone else expect to see another Charlton tweet tomorrow confirming that Ahmed Kashi is now out for six weeks after breaking his toe walking into one of the training weights or something!!
  • So that's where Kashi hsa been hiding.
