I've booked myself up to join you all.
  • I've just donated. I can't do the walk this year as I will be in Malacca, Malaysia. However, I will be doing a 9 mile walk in burning Malaysian sun (hopefully not a Malaysian downpour). With the time difference, I should be enjoying a beer before everyone else has started. I'll try and post a picture of a very sweaty me enjoying a beer after 9 miles in the sun!!

can you put up a route map at some time.
Me and Baldy JNR are otherwise engaged between 8.30 and 9.30 but would like to intercept you and offer moral support.

Many thanks to @Onlyme @Badger @thai malaysia addick and Anon x3 for your generous contributions, much appreciated.

Our CL target is currently at 15%, would be great to get that into the 20s this morning if people have woke up on the right side of the bed :-)

Apologies for my baboonery - it IS £5 per ticket. I just misread the letter.

  • Having participated the last two years I'm gutted to be missing this this year. Good luck to all taking part - we all know it's a great cause.

Still a long way to go, the next milestone Jose Riga has promised a thumbs up, so how about that for an incentive

You're welcome @AFKABartram. But it's partly a guilt trip as unfortunately I messed up on dates and will now be overseas on Sat 8th. What an idiot. I'm also gutted that I'm missing the chance to meet two of my boyhood heroes from the 70s (as well as lots of Lifers of course). We will still be walking though, just not in South East London.

thanks @Davo55 for your contribution overnight, much appreciated.

Just 8 DAYS now until Upbeats Day. Last year with 8 days to go we made it UPBEAT FRIDAY and had a real push at trying to lift our fundraising.

How close can we get to doubling our current fundraising total by the end of today?

    Why are we pushing this?

The last few years have been particularly difficult with everything associated with Charlton. The work of the Community Trust has remained a shining light thoughtout this, and the continued existence (and success) of the Upbeats is one of the key aspects that has connected with fans. It receives no grants, it's existence is purely down to sponsors and fundraising.

So if you have taken any pleasure or pride as a Charlton fan from this pioneering schemes continued existence, and are able to put a small donation it's way, it will be much appreciated.

How quickly can we get to our next milestone and a Jose Riga thumbs up?

    Thanks for reading

Big thanks to @RedArmySE7 @Dippenhall @Shag and Anon for your generosity, much appreciated chaps.

We are still a long way from a Riga thumbs up however. You know Jose, he's not one to complain, but I can see a slight grimace on his face and I think he's getting a little impatient standing around in his immaculate Zara suit.

So it's Friday lunchtime, get a wine down your neck and please be generous:-)

I had lots of connectivity problem trying to donate and failed to enter my name. Anyway OCD kicked in so I rounded up to the 3k. Mr A Nony Mouse.

I would have liked to have joined in but things already planned. The Upbeats radiate life as it should be lived. Well done Charlton Life for supporting them.
