The Takeover Thread - Duchatelet Finally Sells (Jan 2020)

The bottom line is that nobody is biting Roland's hand off despite spending significant sums on due dilligence. We don't have to be rocket scientists to work out that this isn't sale of the century. Nobody has a moral duty to buy us but I believe Roland has a moral duty to sell us at a reasonable price given the damage he has done. It seems clear that the biggest obstacle has to be too high a price.8

.....Is because I’ve been ‘caught out!?’ Not true at all. In the past I’ve said I’ve revealed everything about the takeover but several times I’ve said I wasn’t going to reveal personal stuff.Covered End said:The reason JamesSeed got so emotional, is because he's been caught out withholding information.
This MIGHT have contributed to the 3 month takeover delay.
James has told us on so many occasions, that he has shared all he knows and we know as much as him.
It was obviously not true, even if he does regard the information as personal.
It isn't, not in terms of data protection.
For the last time (hurry up @AFKABartram ):
1. GM is the broker. He wasn’t sure if he’d be moving back to London as of May 18, so wasn’t sure if he’d be involved after the sale.
2. The family have been over looking at schools and houses. I didn’t share on here because frankly it’s a family matter and not relevant (except that it shows a level of commitment). Bear in mind that they spend about three years here up to around 2012, so not easy to uproot the family from schools etc again.
3. It’s possible that it’s not going to work out for the family which may mean that they will need to appoint a CEO. This won’t delay the sale. You don’t have to have a CEO in place for a sale to go through. It’s just more internet stirring from the usual suspects. It sort of sums up why I’ve had enough of it really.
I certainly see why Grapevine just comes on here once a month to post.2 -

Quite agree. We don't have one now & its not a problem for the EFL, so shouldn't be for any new owner.JamesSeed said:

Also - 'Sign Out' top right, no need to wait for AFKA. Might be advisable before you reveal even more private sensitive data about GM.19 -

Why can't we just respect all of our sources of information, take what they give and make our own minds up. But certainly don't give them a hard time for not giving enough, giving too much or giving information they are not 100% on. Some of us are grateful to receive it. I think it is good advice James to log out for a few days.
I don't have any information on for this thread, but I did have some info a few years ago, shared it and got all sorts of antagonism for doing so. I thought I was doing fellow lifers a service and it hurt. We can be an ungrateful lot on here sometimes.5 - Sponsored links:

There are lots of personal GM related info I haven’t revealed on here because it wouldn’t have been right imho, including the family’s difficult decision about uprooting themselves again. But of course I don’t run this forum, but while I’m still here I’m entitled to ask someone to delete something, just as he’s perfectly entitled to refuse.
