I have a feeling that they won’t be just investing in Charlton. I think they’ll be investing in the community and in Education.FANnotCUSTOMER said:

Interview with tahnoon nimer, about 1.40 in he mentions that they only invests in unique opportunities, if they are qualified enough
As my mum says, it will all come out in the wash in the end.
Interested to know what is so unique about the mighty CAFC.
This is serious business for them so very exciting being a charlton fan right now7 -
I profoundly don't give a flying fuck about that 😊😊ElfsborgAddick said:
Hopefully they can now reveal what the crack was with their 'attempt' at buying us.Chizz said:Anyone know if the Aussies have made a bid to ESI yet?1 -

It (sort of) makes sense. Why else take a risk on buying Charlton, of all football clubs?stonemuse said:
As I mentioned above, this is fascinating ... and very intriguing ... could very well make sense of the entire takeover.carly burn said:From the Twitter feed:

Interesting.
I'm trying to find the video from a few years ago of Matt Syed talking on sky about why these states get involved in major sports, another fascinating insight.
A club in Royal Greenwich with all the Peninsula development, growing infrastructure and housing ... definitely an all-round good ‘rentier’ investment ... Manchester has certainly done well out of their Middle East connections.
https://21stcenturychallenges.org/the-thames-gateway/
The summerise its about The Thames Gateway Project and it being being an eco region, these guys are at the forefront of clean energy, hydroponics etc
Charlton is in this catchment so a foot in the door to this project is worth gazillions1 -
Thanks @Ollywozere really really thanksScoham said:WIOTOS - great to see this page has now been updated

Peter Varney was very much selling this aspect of our potential back in the day.FANnotCUSTOMER said:

I can understand why His Excellency might fancy a punt at a football club and obviously Matt Southall has a football/sports background but what’s the angle on Jonathan Heller’s interest ?0
-
If the Sheikh were involved in terms of financing, would this really be a problem that Mansour is involved at Man City? Yes they are related but if it comes from his own personal wealth, would it be a problem?0

Wonder if we might see some 'random' companies sponsoring us in the near future? HEs' company has a big umbrella covering what was it? 60 business'? Be one way round FFP wouldnt it?4

I’d be extremely surprised if this didn’t happen.Redvalleyeast said:Wonder if we might see some 'random' companies sponsoring us in the near future? HEs' company has a big umbrella covering what was it? 60 business'? Be one way round FFP wouldnt it?4 -

I'm saving my annual leave for a decent pre-season.1

People need to stop second guessing and stop worrying about what will transpire
you can not contain paranoia about every aspect and movement ESI will make
it’s our club it will always be our club but it’s their money their business to run
Allow them to do so without fear of criticism at every turn
there is much to be done some that I am sure will be very popular and much that will be unpopular but we won’t get the full story on any of it so and not should we
Start enjoying football again without the backdrop of RD for a while and without the cynicism that has crept in and for good reason. Some need to learn to trust again40 -
He is from Bromley, went to Dulwich college 😁 you may well find he has a love for the club.ShootersHillGuru said:I can understand why His Excellency might fancy a punt at a football club and obviously Matt Southall has a football/sports background but what’s the angle on Jonathan Heller’s interest ?2 -

I'd like us to troll the EFL by having Man City as the main shirt sponsor.23
-
I thought the rules prevented owners sponsoring their own clubs to get around FFP or at least City and PSG got questioned on it.
Still expect some "friends of friends" company name to appear on the shirts.1 -
Very well said @nth_london_addick, couldnt agree more. Now is not the time for dissecting every detail. Now is a time after 6 long weary years, to enjoy the football, see what happens with ESI in charge for the rest of this season and read/listen to any of their statements (if they make any) about future plans. Now is the time for fans 'factions' to come together and support the team on the pitch and of course LB and his coaches, and help the team move back up the division, and by 'factions' I mean those that supported RD, those that tolerated RD and those that fought to remove RD. What the club now needs is unity and full support from everyone. This has to be a time to rejoice and 'chill', its time to show other clubs how CAFC fans are we we are one!!! Live, Love,Laugh and be Happy!!!nth_london_addick said:People need to stop second guessing and stop worrying about what will transpire

I think one thing that will help this process is that very few people were still actively supporting Duchatelet's ownership, so I doubt that anyone at all is actually anti ESI. Wary, possibly given the history of previous ownerships, but anti, no.Redmidland said:

So I'm with the big fella in North London (and @Redmidland) when I say judge them on their actions, and at least give them a chance to get their business model up and running, and I'm certain their fan engagement will be off the scale compared to that of the previous regime. It's never going to be plain sailing, even with a decent cash investment, but the future feels brighter than it has for a very long time.11
