  • C'mon let's be fair my house in Bromley has over doubled £215000 to £450000 in 4 1/2 years so it's no surprise its cooled down.
Where's the big 15% to 20% drop in house prices people were forecasting because of brexit.
  • Hello Bob things not going too bad for me and the wife both had pay increases since last June.
House price gone up a bit in the last year so things not looking too bad for us.

Good luck to you - pretty good from my perspective also.

    The country is f*cked though.

I'd put something away for a rainy day if I were you.

And at least half of it in euros.

  • We won't be leaving until - We are still in the single market as we speak.

Unfortunately, properties in the upper end of the market (£1m plus) have taken a hit. Estate agents are having to throw in free electric cars to help developers shift new builds in this price range. These are dark times and I fear for what could become of this....

If you are buying from overseas they've already fallen that far in local currency equivalent terms.

I was one of the people predicting a fall in property prices and it has happened at the very top, yet hasn't trickled down below the £1M properties (generally speaking). I admit that I thought it would, despite differing stamp duty rates etc.

Personally, I'm more than happy for prices to fall, as it may mean my grown up lads are be able to get a place of their own before the age of 40, without having to move miles from London.
The only alternative would be for me to take out a lifetime mortgage to give the money to them, which I will do if I need to.

Mind you it's mainly about supply and demand and even if immigration levels are falling, there is still an extra 248,000 people to house just from 2016.

It's looking bad for her, she's married to you.

Diane Abbott has type 2 diabetes. I can't say I'm surprised as her performances were so poor, I thought she had to be suffering from some sort of illness.

I have that and it sounds a bit of an iffy explanation if you ask me.

Must be intense pressure though campaigning and that can affect blood sugar, not eating though would more likely decrease it. Eating crap would increase it. Although taking pills and not eating could give you a hypo (low bs episode), but it doesn't sound like that.

I guess if you were being silly diet wise and working excessively you might suffer fatigue, not very convincing though.

By the look of her she hasn't changed her diet and lifestyle to cope with it.

Do any other sufferers have a view?

Call me a cynic, but I think (and have the right to hold the view) that that is probably bollocks.

Calling everyone who criticised her racist didn't work, so they reached for this after she put in yet another awful performance. Exploiting a genuine condition is completely unacceptable in my opinion and unbecoming of someone who wants to hold public office.

Then again, no one will be able to prove otherwise. And a lot of people (especially a few on here) will for some reason never ever be able to accept any point that is critical of Labour or a Labour politician.

Someone pretended to be Seamus Milne and allegedly emailed her at the start of June, before she had been removed but when it was clear how incompetent she was, and it went like this:

    Prankster (as Seamus Milne)

"JC and I have been talking this morning and it's our opinion that we should add some colour to the illness that prevented you from appearing on Woman's Hour this morning. Flesh it out with some more detail if you will, perhaps also mention some medication which might be retrospectively seen as a mitigating reason for the Murnaghan interview."

    To which Abbott allegedly replied:
"I'm not sure what colour I can add. I have always enjoyed good health until the last few years. And diabetes, in itself, would not stop me doing Women's Hour.

"I am worried about telling untruths about my health which are easily disproved."

If this was a Conservative Minister I doubt that people would be as kind as they have been.

Diane Abbott is a horrible person and one of the most divisive people in UK politics in my opinion. And if she really has used this as an excuse, it's pretty shitty but not unexpected.

This is quite an astonishing post. The woman is ill. By all means attack her politics but I think it's pretty shitty to attack her for being ill. If and when you ( and I hope you don't) become ill I really hope it doesn't affect your ability to do your job properly.

I am interested to hear what other type 2 diabetes sufferers have to say. If I've got it completely wrong I will apologise, like I said, they kept throwing excuses like racism out and it didn't work so they pulled the one card they knew wouldn't be criticised.

Theresa May is also a diabetes sufferers (type 1) do you think people on here would accept that as an excuse for her say, not attending leadership interviews, because they could have pulled that card out the bag if they wanted to.

And please do understand that a large proportion of me taking a very cynical view of this is that email exchange. If that turns out to be "fake news," then again, I really will apologise.

Uncontrolled type two diabetes makes you ill. There are many reasons why it might be uncontrolled some of which could be self inflicted.

As we don't know any of the reasons why her diabetes is making her feel unwell and I assume we believe she has type two diabetes then we ought to cut her some slack or at least get off her back with unnecessary attacks. Like her or loathe her the woman is ill.

Fair enough, in which case I apologise if you think I've been out of line.

I completely believe that she has type 2 diabetes I just feel it is a shame they threw out accusations of racism before revealing this. If someone is underperforming because of illness and people don't realise they are ill they will be criticised, that does not make them racist.

18-24 turnout still below 60% according to the graph above.

Labour dominate the age categories all the way up to age 49.
  • I have Type 2 Diabetes and was diagnosed 8 years ago.

It appears Diane Abbott has been diagnosed for 2 years.

I have had episodes where medication has been adjusted and resulted in low blood sugars. My longstanding friend who is a consultant paediatrician has had type 1 since 18. I don't think many people who know us would be aware we are diabetics.

I am afraid based on our experiences this is a bollocks explanation and I think an insult to the many diabetics who do not use it as an excuse for pathetic performances.

I think Steve Redgrave is too didn't stop him performing well at peak levels.
