Neither are 99% of them. We cannot complain about players being sold, frustrates me when people say that. We are a League 1 club, in no position to persuade players to stay with us over Prem clubs.
Of course things have gone well this summer and we look good. Still reliant on key players staying fit but think Chelsea and Arsenal would say same, you need that bit of luck.
I would prefer a couple more in. I don't think RD has learnt. He will still leave the squad short in order to force KR to blood a few youngsters.

I think you are wrong in saying most fans did not go before RD, I for one, have been going for 60 years until....But you are right, no-one has won. The club is not as united as it was before RD, no matter what we achieve this season, the feeling of animosity towards them will never change, the arguing between ourselves will never change. I long for a time again when all the supporters are singing the same song together again, even if we disagree on certain players, but what club does not do that? I just want us to be a united club (no, not the name), and go on to be relatively successful, not necessarily into the Premier League, although that would be good, but winning more games than we lose and at least in the Championship. I agree but it's also tough to continue to put money into the pockets of an owner you despise. I wouldn't buy a season ticket purely for that reason. I may go to the odd game, but I don't want to support season ticket sales when I don't want to support RD. I also will go to more away games than home until he is gone.
It's easy to say support the team regardless of the owner, but let's be honest, it's not really possible. When I went to the game against Northampton, I enjoyed supporting the team and loved how we played. I went away looking forward to the next time I would see them. I still got frustrated at the fact the bench wasn't great. I saw Magennis getting knackered and it reminded me how we desperately need a striker. Yes you have to support the players on the pitch. But those players on the pitch are their because of the owner. By that I mean when we were supporting the likes of Thuram, he was there because of the owner and he was a pile of shit.
Charlton are not just the supporters and the team on a matchday, there is much more to the club so for me, its not that easy. I will continue to be a passionate Charlton fan, I want us to win every match and I want us to get promoted, but more importantly, I want RD to piss off.

Again -That's your view of course you entitled to.You clearly support the team so why not go regardless of who the owner is. For arguments sake RD could be here for the next ten years or more - We may or may not get promoted but it is still our club. For me, it's not the better the devil you know. RD does not care about us and so I don't like him. If he is here for the next 10 years, then I will judge the circumstances if they change. I am not stubborn enough to say I will never go until this ownership does. I was boycotting and I have to admit there has been an improvement this summer, hence why I will go to a few games. If this improvement continues, I hope fans will continue to return because the owners would deserve that.
But in my opinion, the improvement might not quite be enough. It's been a decent summer, but we need at least a striker, maybe 1/2 more. The comments from Robbo support this and he wants it, he's just not being allowed the finishing touches to what could be a near perfect summer of recruitment. It's this that is the most frustrating element of the ownership.

From a personal point of view, going to Belgium proved to me that I still loved this great club. Meeting up with a group of fellas (and ladies once we arrived there) at Ebbsfleet and travelling on the train chatting about the days where the club worked with the fans to grow this great club. Standing in the various bars laughing and joking and having far to much to drink listening to music that wasn't my particular style but enjoying it just the same. Attending my first ever professional football match that didn't involve Charlton or England, but one thing was apparent the whole weekend. Every person there loves this club, its a business but it's also a way of life. Me, I'll accept some may not consider me a supporter in fact I' consider myself a lapsed supporter and now a follower. I'm not vain enough to think I matter to the ownership, who can replace me with a youngster on a free ticket who will eventually think RDs way of running a football club is the norm. I have never been able work for a company who's ethics I didn't agree with, I now find my football club has lost its ethic's, the ethics that made this club different it made this club special and I find that very sad. The deterioration in my health tells me I will probably never step foot in The Valley again, I certainly never anticipated my relationship with the club ending this way but sh*t happens. I'll always have respect for any Charlton fan be it s/t holder or boycotting protestor it's your opinion and you are right to do what you believe is right. Support the team home and away or protest if you choose to, but respect the differing opinions, no one is right no one is wrong. But we all want what is best for the club and only time will tell.

How can a boycott be flawed when the people boycotting are individuals who've made a personal decision? Or are you suggesting that there has been a plot to mass boycott? Because there hasn't.
It is awful, I am returning to London for the first time in 7 years, and I won't be going to the Valley, which breaks my heart.

Well they aren't all buying tickets per match, at least not at the same time. In 2010/11 we averaged 15k in this league and 17k each season either side.

Of course they are missing. If the aggregate crowd is several thousand lower, I'd suggest that they are not in the ground.
How can we have won? We finished last season in the bottom half of League One and, flirted with relegation and were on course for most of the season for our lowest ever league finish. Duchatelet has zero interest in CAFC beyond getting his money back and moving on. The old scrote is still here and his lack of any ambition for the club will again tell this season. Every decision is based on his bank balance and the bloke is the richest owner in our history. The odious Meire is still there carrying out orders with zeal and I am convinced we will suffer again this season. Players will again be sold to offset operating losses irrespective of our league position. He really doesn't care and is quite happy in League One where the money he needs to raise to cover those losses is smaller. He wants out when he can quit without losing money and face in front of the protesting fans and the public in Belgium. I am pleased we have acquired some decent players to offset those who have gone but don't confuse that with ambition. They have been signed using wages freed-up by moving Vetekole, Texeira, Watt and Co.
