Or “People’s Votes” on Independence for Scotland and unification/independence in NI, both countries vote for it and rejoin the EU. England and Wales leave the EU without a deal and everyone’s happy?bobmunro said:

No Deal - backlash
This deal - backlash
No Brexit - backlash
We are a divided country.0 -
Trouble is, Remainers will do their utmost to turn any second referendum in to a Brexit cancellation vote. They're already playing their semantic games by calling it a "People's Vote" as if that somehow makes it more valid and popular, coz the 'people' (whoever they are) want it.bobmunro said:To avoid the fallacious argument that another referendum would be undemocratic, the simple choice on another referendum could be:
Accept this deal.
Reject this deal and renegotiate.
The latter would need the EU to agree an extention of Article 50.
No options of No deal or cancelling Brexit.1 -
I disagree
No deal: That's what we will have - we can't stop 'idiots' voting - not my words, but what people will say and we are a democracy
This deal: That will happen and May will be vindicated
No brexit: Brexiters may say we were always going to have another vote until we voted to remain, but they can't argue it was the will of the people.
We may be divided, but any of the three will end something that has been dividing us since the initial vote! In the short to medium term at least.0 -

With the exception of Rees-Mogg and equally lunatic brexiters. A no deal Brexit is universally condemned

so why can't MPs and the public get behind the PM and get us out of one
of the most corrupt organistions in the world, ie the EU'
Serious food for thought!4 -

They are making their move - they don't want Brexit, they want an extreme Brexit! It is important they are shot down.0

She is just answering the same questions over and over again. Hasn’t she got more important stuff to be doing now?1

I think that in itself should tell her something. A village idiot should be able to tell her that her deal is dead. She has to accept that!0

Forget about other parties, She needed enough of her party and the DUP to get behind it and it is clear today that won't happen. She may get a few stray Labour MPs, but the numbers are not going to work for her.0

You have to admire her stamina, patience and intellect in handling all these questions, off the cuff, for the last few hours.1

Pie charts and breaking down of leave votes are great
Yes or no we voted yes - now the government must see it through
I would like to see a vote on the 3 options but don’t have any faith in it being followed through1 -

I listen to him every day. His smugness and condescending attitude towards people make me ashamed to hold the same point of view as him in the referendum.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:James O'brien is especially powerful listening this morning on LBC
If more people listened this nation would be a much nicer more informed country.
At least Nigel Farage doesnt belittle people on his show. Even if I disagree with everything he says, he lets people with opinions like mine be heard rather than talking over them and making them out to be stupid constantly.7 -

Millions of men from many nations fought and won against tyranny and facism. The founding fathers of the EU had as one of their overiding ambitions to avoid a repeat of that, and for 73 years Europe, certainly western Europe, has been at peace.

I reckon the motivations of the men that fought and died in WW1 & WW2 had nothing to do with the EU, either way, and anyone from either side invoking their memory to support their perspective does so in poor taste.bobmunro said:

Agree, but the abject horror of two world wars in Europe and the will to ensure that it could never happen again was part of the motivation for the fledgling cooperation of European nations.se9addick said:

Except in 1982. The Falklands conflict was the only deployment of exclusively EU millitary. The French assisted the Argentines and 100sof British soldiers died as a result.bobmunro said:
