Tired from staying up until 2, now do i have a early night and set the alarm for 4 and watch from then or try and stay up again to watch first session tomorrow.

Have a kip before the pub opens. You are a landlord aren't you?
Im not even the landlord in my house.

The name is from when I started on net addicks and wanted something different so went for the pub used to drink in before games.
  • Stoneman's scores on this tour have been 85, 61, 51, 111 and 53 on this tour.

That's fantastic. So pleased for him because he's had to work hard.
  • BT coverage commences at 11.15pm with first ball due at 11.30pm.

Riviera is a landlord.....but maybe you already know that.

I’d say we are just ahead in the game . Runs on the board with some useful batsmen in and to come . If we can get to 400+ then I think we’re laughing because I’m not convinced by the Aussie batting lineup .
Moen Ali is key . If he stay there for the first session we should be easily on top.

Sadly I do. In fact I've had the misfortune to have known him for over 30 years!

I would feel a lot more happy with Stokes coming in now.

Its nice to actually watch some proper test cricket for a change
  • Nathan Lyon the latest Aussie to Get involved with Pommie bashing

I’m like a lot of others are not confident of our chances, but I really hope crap like this spurs the England side on.

I’ve never understood why the Aussies call us poms. Didn’t it stand for prisoner of mother England? Surely that makes them the poms?
It does indeed stand for that, and yes they are the poms. But try explaining that to the natives here. Jesus wept they’re stupid.

  • Managed to catch the last hour or so this morning. I'd say 55/45 to Australia at EoD. Only 3 down but arguably 50 runs short of where you'd want to be. Big first session tomorrow. Lose 2 wickets fairly cheaply then getting to 350 will look a real challenge
  • Gonna be a crucial first session tomorrow.
  • OK - predictions for our first innings total

I am saying 275 with us losing two wicket before midnight .
  • Quite close, it will be interesting how the pitch plays tomorrow. As it speeds up will that help the bowlers AND the batsmen?

I worry that England will struggle to take 20 wickets, hopefully the ball will reverse as the pitch dries

If the pitch speeds up it will please Warner.

I recorded the game and got up at 5am. I've just watched it all.
An untypical England performance, playing more cautiously than they have for a long long time.
It was probably the right plan and I think England won the day 55/45.
We played very few poor shots, Cook, Stoneman & Root were all out to good balls.
Vince's run out was poor judgement after an excellent innings.
The pitch was slower and lower than you would expect in Australia and was turning as soon as Lyon got the ball early on.
The experts say the pitch will quicken in days 2 & 3 under the sun.
The game could go either way, but at least we looked confident & relaxed and the umpires were more than fair to us.
    I'll go for 322.
  • all of the Batters who were least expected have made a contribution so i am very heartened by that ..bodes well for the rest of the series ...

    i ll go with 340
