Got underway a couple hours ago,
With no Murray British hopes are all with Edmund on the male side.

Tough first round against the big South African Kevin Anderson
Currently 2 sets all
Edmund has just broke to put the 5th set back on serve

    Great result for Edmund. Hope he can push through to the third, fourth round and maybe even a quarter final now he's beaten the 11th (I think) seed.

    So Edmund plays Istomin in Round 2, and likely Pouille (18th seed) in Round 3. Round 4 match would be against 8th seed Jack Sock which is very winnable too.

    He'll have to play well but don't think he could've got a more favourable draw.

    Great win for Kyle, that was a really tough 1st round draw, and in the past he's ran out of steam in 5 setters

    I wouldn't describe Istomin as anything more than solid but he is capable of the occasional top performance.

    I'd hope Edmund has enough to see him off in four sets.

    Overnight, all four seeds in Edmund's section of the draw were knocked out. So no Pouille and no Sock in later rounds...

    You've got Istomin followed by Bemelmans or Basilashvili and then likely Seppi or Karlovic in a possible fourth round match.

    I'd hope so too but it certainly isn't a gimmee in my view.

    Yeah he does. Mainly because his serve is ridiculous (over 50 aces today) but he's not much good at returning so there's never many breaks of serve.

    The draw has opened up nicely for him. It would be great, in Andy's absence, if he can really step up from outside his shadow now

    Just about got over the line 8-6 in the 5th set
    3 and a half hour to beat McDonald (186)
