  • First Candidate fot SPOTY 2018 maybe even winner.. Should be no where near the Semis!! - Brilliant from Edmund!!

So many people above him including a injured tennis player and a retired darts player

    Andy Murray 14/1
    Harry Kane 14/1
    Johanna Konta 14/1

Ah yes... Easy to forget the Winter Olympics are on in a few weeks

Its a shame that they're on in South Korea as wont get to see much of them!! - Elise Christie was a contender for the 2017 award and could win a couple of Gold Medals in the speed skating

Which is exactly why anyone who might win a gold for us has very little chance of winning SPOTY
  • Cilic fighting back against Nadal. One set all. Come on Marin!
  • Kyle has followed Murray's advice and is building his own team around him and it's really showing.

Nadal won 3rd set 7-6(5) in tie breaker

Cilic just gone a break up in the 4th(3-1)

Match already 3 hours and 20 minutes
  • Physio has been called for Nadal(issue with right hip)
  • Nadal could be done here
  • Has the treatment, goes back out for 1 point and is in alot of pain, not moving to well

Then comes back from 0-40 to win the game!

    Lol yeah.

    Still doesnt look good tho,
Think he will go off court after this set

  • Nadal 2-2 Cilic

Into 5 sets, interesting to see how Nadal gets on looks to be struggling
  • Fell asleep for the last set of Edmund's match. What an incredible achievement.

All good for Kyle whichever way it finishes
  • Nadal will not finish this match IMO
  • Match over
    Nadal pulls out injured
  • So Edmund v Cilic then... technically shouldn't be any tougher than Dimitrov but I've always rated Cilic as a player plus he has a lot more big game experience than even Dimitrov.

Will be even tougher for Kyle but I think he believes he can beat anybody now.

Not a bad bet but, as we found last year, it has to be someone who does have exposure on mainstream TV. This is also January and December is a long way away. Now if Edmund was to win Wimbledon that would be a different matter but he is as big as 250/1 to do that.
What price would Edmund be for Wimbledon if he actually won the Australian?

Men's tennis is going through a transitional period with all of the big four either suffering from a loss of form and/or injury so why should he be 250/1 or even 100/1? He ishalf those odds to get to the final.

Alot has to do with ground type aswell
He is 125/1 for French Open
    80/1 for us Open
  • Could be a repeat of last year's Wimbledon final. Looking good for Federer.
  • Djokovic injured
    Nadal injured
    Murray injured

Federer aged 36, strolling on though. Yet to lose a set this tournament.

Could slam number 20 be just a few days away?

THE greatest tennis player of all time. Been a privilege to watch him over the course of the last 20 years - he's been winning Grand Slams for the last 15 years!

If Edmund doesn't win, then I hope so.

He's constantly played in the evening too (naturally he plays when the big TV audiences are there) so has avoided playing in the burning conditions during the day
  • So, who does Federer have to play? which you all seem to have forgotten to mention.

    Berdych in Quarter
Then Sandgren or Chung in semi
  • I can't stand Federer. So smarmy.

    Ducking...

  • Its strange that all the top tennis players are nice guys, gone are the days of McEnroe and Nastase and Vitas Gerulaitis.

dont remember Vitas Gerulaitis being such a bad lad ..

Nasty's still around. Well he would be if it wasn't serving a ban for being found guilty of racism last year.

The good news is that he has now become a diplomat. And for those who think that I am joking, he has been made the Czech Republic's honorary consul in Romania!
