Bradford losing 0-4 at home to Wombles

Based on current scores, we're going to have a great opportunity to properly re-establish ourselves in the playoffs.0

Southend 3-2 up!13

Nice one ChrissyMuttleyCAFC said:I am happy for Shrewsbury and Blackburn to win. I don't want Blackburn anywhere near the play offs. I still think they will finish above Shrewsbury. Pompey are a potential rival for a play off place so no points is best. Just need Southend to score a late winner and a great day for us in terms of other results.

Bradford lose 4-0 at home.
That's about 5 defeats in a row for them!
And still, they stay 5th.

Scunny lose at Southend.

On the whole, some great results for us today.13

All over. Blackburn 1-1

Yep, no play off team won today - except Shrews, who move to 2nd in place of Blackburn.alan dugdale said:On the whole, some great results for us today.
Blackburn drew
Scunny lost
Bradford lost.
And now we have another game in hand on some teams around us.

Bradford are on a shocking run, after losing 4-0 at home to AFC, I imagine the atmosphere there could get ugly...
In an ideal world, we'd pip both to come second! Assuming that won't happen, I'd rather play Shrewsbury in the playoffs than BlackburnMuttleyCAFC said:I am happy for Shrewsbury and Blackburn to win. MK lose in the cup, so our game there will go ahead which after today's postponement will be a relief7

We don't want any further postponed games otherwise we will have a fixture pile up just when we don't need it.1 -
Spot on Oggy and Muttley. With Pompey losing as well we had a good day despite the wasted journey. Two games in hand on scunny and Bradford. It is imperative that we take advantage of these games and get the points. Another week for Michal and Sullay to get fitter and understand the patten of play.1

Well annoying. Kills the momentum we had going into the match.3

Don't forget 1 of our games in hand is against Shrewsbury away - we'd do ourselves a power of good to beat them in that fixture.soapboxsam said:Spot on Oggy and Muttley. And we've still to play them at The Valley 24th Feb.
Opportunity is there, if only we can take it.

Where would you get a bucket of sand from in Blackpool ?Blucher said:Louis - which member of the Oysten family is now the chairman ? It’s a little hard to keep up.
The whole situation is very odd. A bucket of sand in that corner of the pitch would probably have done the trick.
The pitch would have been regarded as pristine in the 70s. Granted times have changed but all the same ....2 -

Amazing. As a birthday treat my daughter took me to Biggin Hill to visit the collection of Spifires (plus a Hurricane and an ME109) both of which took part in the battle of Britain. Actually sat in the cockpit of 'Spirit of Kent'!
Popped in to a lovely old pub for lunch and a few beers -couldn't get anything up on the mobile and didn't get home till 4.30 -first I knew that the game was off. Feel for the chaps that went. This sort of thing really shouldn't happen in 2018. If there was any doubt the game should have been called off yesterday.3 -
Every company has its biggest assets ie their workers. Can't ever recalling my or any other company i have worked for say dont come in as the roads are a bit wet. They all think their prima donnas, even officials, about time this stopped.SDAddick said:
And players these days are well paid professional athletes who train their entire lives in the hopes of having what, a 10-15 year career. And clubs are huge entities with high turnover in revenue, and with all the money at stake they don't want to risk their biggest assets.ricky_otto said:
I guess we don’t want to see players slipping over and chipping a finger nail or getting a bit of dirt on their Hair bands.bellz2002 said:What's the difference between pitches now and in the 60s when they were often a mudbath and played in all conditions? Is it due to new safety issues or what? Just appears to be so many more games called off in past 10 years or so than used to be.
You can see these as good or bad (or both) developments in the game, but remember Norman Hunter and his ilk didn't make tackles at anywhere near the speed that happens today. And the speed the modern game is played at makes the risk of muscle injuries more common, part of the reason they don't want to play on bog-pitches.0 -

Ref let poor Jimmy Armfield down
He certainly did.
Blackpool fans claiming he disappeared as soon as he postponed the game and didn't even bother turning up for the Jimmy Armfield tribute.

Karl Oyston: “I was disappointed to read quotes attributed to the Charlton Athletic manager Karl Robinson in relation to the postponement of this afternoon’s match."Henry Irving said:
"At no point did I comment on or discuss Charlton’s willingness to play the fixture, and I fully respect the referee’s decision to call the game off on the grounds of player safety. I have since spoken to Karl and I look forward to his apology at the rearranged fixture."
