Hutton wonder strike!0
-
Well done Jodie. Keeper will be disappointed but as usual we're indebted to one of the wingbacks bailing us out just by being a fair sight better than pretty much everyone else in our league1
-
I'd like to see Kenney start next game up front, Already she's done more to hold up the ball today than Thestrup has managed more or less all season. Thestrup is clearly trying but she's offering nothing at all so far1
-
A touch of the Gillesphy’s about that one0

The move came from a superb save by Whitehouse. Let's gloss over the sleepy defending that led to her needing to make the save...0

There was a nice pass from Muya to Hutton after the fall but she blasted the ball wide, was a very well created opening though. We’re definitely growing into this1

This is a difficult watch.
We’re second to every ball, can’t get the ball off the oppo and we’re giving it away pretty much every time we get it.
Really poor.0 -
We’re definitely better against higher quality opposition1
-
Off the line! So close0

N’Dow replaced by Lobato0

5 mins added, 1 of which has already been wasted0

Sorry, but that was absolutely shite.1

FT. Disappointing.0

I'm happy with the point tbh.
Wasn't at our best but I still enjoyed it, showed some metal at the end.0 -
Once again absolutely useless against a team where we're expected to take the game to them. It's great being defensively sound but we have absolutely no patterns of play in attack, it's all about praying that Hutton or Newsham pull something out of the bag every game. We didn't replace Brazil or Barton properly and we don't hold the ball up front which means it's hopeful lumps up the field to no-one. We desperately need to get in a striker and if we insist on this 343 a proper incisive winger to play on the left and take some of the pressure off Hutton. I'd much rather though that we go to 352 for now and put McAteer and Kenney up front to hold the ball and offer pace in behind. Credit where it's due, I thought Muya had a decent game when she came on but there wasn't any end product aside from Hutton's free kick.3

The subs added urgency to our game that was lacking first half, but that about all. It did take Sheffield Utd bu surprise, probably why the free kick conceded. Lucky to get a point, but happy they did.0

Similar problems as we saw in the Ipswich game, with so little penetration and so few attacking ideas. Kenney made a difference when she came on and I agree with Garrymanilow that Muya did well, but aside from those few minutes after Hutton's free kick, including another chance for her down the left, we never built up enough momentum. Kenney and Muya both created chances for themselves, Bissell hit one wide when well-placed and a header was cleared off the line, but Sheffield United used every trick in the book to take the sting out of the game and we can't honestly say we deserved to win.
In terms of the starting line-up, I don't get why Ross played over Lobato (one bad mistake nearly let them in for a second goal, only averted by a flying save from Whitehouse), Thestrup again did nothing to show why she should be a starter, albeit with little help, and Fitzgerald seems to need so much time on the ball and is so easily outmuscled. I'm also not convinced that Whitehouse, outstanding as she is, should be captain in the absence of Skeels – I'd give it to N'Dow or someone who can be more vocal with the rest of the team.
I'd expect changes for the Portsmouth game, as an experiment if nothing else. Because the way we're playing at home against teams we should be dispatching comfortably isn't working, and we can't rely on our away form and moments of magic to get promotion.
And does anyone know what's happened to Mason? An injury I assume, but I haven't heard anything.1 -
Watched on YouTube.
Deservedly behind at half time but improved second half.
Wonderful FK and we might have nicked it at the end.
Still unbeaten, still top but we didn't dominate as I thought we might.1 - Sponsored links:

N'Dow was wearing the captain's armband today.1

Concerns injury wise at centre back. Mason out, Skeels came out at the end but was on crutches so assume she's out for a decent chunk of time. N'Dow had heavy strapping and an ice pack on her knee when she came off. When she came over to the fans to sign autographs and do pictures basically said she couldn't feel her knee at all.
Would imagine Lobato comes in for her in the cup game against Portsmouth next week. No need to risk her in that.2
