I have seen some pitiful D's over the years I'm a Bengals fan I accept that it's in our nature and I know we have a lot of injuries but ffs this is bad
Just be glad you’re not a Jets fan.
Talking of pitiful, 49ers v Giants on Monday should be a humdinger....
Mahomes broke the single season franchise record for passing touchdowns today.
He has looked good no doubt and an amazing achievement. But only one QB has thrown 2+ td passes in every game this year. Rivers for MVP. How he isn’t getting more media hype I don’t know.
Other news, Cooper Kupp torn ACL that’s him done. Chiefs v Rams next Monday should be a cracker.
Le'Veon Bell not reporting to the Steelers today, now ineligible to play this year and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
The amount he will lose this year by sitting-out is more than the amount he will gain by being a free-agent next year. He would have received about $14.5M this year if he had played with the franchise tag all season. He wanted quarterback money, which no team will pay him, anyway.
Instead he gets nothing and will just sign a contract next year for $14-16M/year. But he was going to get that anyway, so essentially he just lost $14.5M for no good reason. And now that he has shown he is a problem as a teammate, I am not sure he gets that $15M. Who wants to take a chance he will want $20M one year later and then put his next team through this same ordeal?

He is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
But his fear was that Steelers would run him into the ground knowing he would not be there next season.

But the risks of injury go from really quite high as a working RB, to nearly nil as someone sitting out. So the hit might well be worth it in the end.
I dunno, these millions boggle the mind to ordinary folk like me.

The reason to hold out, or at least one of them, is to get guaranteed money.
If he’d played this year he was guaranteed $14.5m, but a career ending injury and that would be it for him.
Not getting injured, and becoming, potentially, a free agent, he can now negotiate a deal with guaranteed money. Gurley had $45m guaranteed, so Bell will be looking for something like that.
The Steelers offer was $10m guaranteed, which meant they were on the hook for nothing if he got injured. The Cap hit would have been manageable if the released him.
If he never gets injured, he’ll never make that lost year back, but if you think you can get the big deal, I think it’s a smart move.

Saints drives tonight, I prefer to face the Chiefs to be honest 😊
