Hue Jacksons back in the fold and glad to have him again

I see Bengals were the first team in history to give 500 yards in 3 consecutive games
Let's hope they keep it going this week.
Fortunately for us we will miss seeing (according to injury reports) yet another elite QB up against us😊 so there maybe some hope
Lamar Jackson is coming for you...
Which nfl rookie record do you think he will break against us?

    Sweepstake anyone??
QB rushing yards by a rookie on debut.

Sounds like it'll be Flacco anyway.

Le'Veon Bell not reporting to the Steelers today, now ineligible to play this year and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The amount he will lose this year by sitting-out is more than the amount he will gain by being a free-agent next year. He would have received about $14.5M this year if he had played with the franchise tag all season. He wanted quarterback money, which no team will pay him, anyway.

Instead he gets nothing and will just sign a contract next year for $14-16M/year. But he was going to get that anyway, so essentially he just lost $14.5M for no good reason. And now that he has shown he is a problem as a teammate, I am not sure he gets that $15M. Who wants to take a chance he will want $20M one year later and then put his next team through this same ordeal?

He is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
But the risks of injury go from really quite high as a working RB, to nearly nil as someone sitting out. So the hit might well be worth it in the end.

I dunno, these millions boggle the mind to ordinary folk like me.
The reason to hold out, or at least one of them, is to get guaranteed money.

If he’d played this year he was guaranteed $14.5m, but a career ending injury and that would be it for him.

Not getting injured, and becoming, potentially, a free agent, he can now negotiate a deal with guaranteed money. Gurley had $45m guaranteed, so Bell will be looking for something like that.

The Steelers offer was $10m guaranteed, which meant they were on the hook for nothing if he got injured. The Cap hit would have been manageable if the released him.

If he never gets injured, he’ll never make that lost year back, but if you think you can get the big deal, I think it’s a smart move.
    See Earl Thomas this season.
Held out until just before week 1 and broke his leg in week 4

Also look how fresh Marshawn Lynch looked after a year off.

Earl Thomas, who was hoping for a bit of loyalty from the Seahawks organisation, got done over because of his injury so all players are gonna take the Bell route in contract negotiations now.

Him flipping off the Seahawks sideline was a pretty fair enough thing to do.

Game now switched for Monday night, back in LA, what an admin nightmare for the NFL, I cant call the outcome of this, my son who is a Chiefs fan is not as confident as he has been in recent weeks either!
  • Rumours that Chiefs players are very happy with the switch.
An NFL reporter who had spoken to a Chiefs player said less than 10% of the locker room were looking forward to going to Mexico.

There's also a 90% chance the same report made the whole thing up though, so pinch of salt and all that.

But his fear was that Steelers would run him into the ground knowing he would not be there next season.
No RB gets $14-16M without being run into the ground. Every good RB worth their salt gets 300-350+ touches per season between carries and passes. He must think some team will pay him that amount to be a third-down specialist? If he is that worried, he should just quit the NFL now and enjoy his millions while he still has the brain cells to remember his own name. Being run down is part of being in this game. Unless your are a QB, where the rules make it a crime to hit them.
  • Just watched highlights from last night...baffled by GB decision not to go for it on 4th and 2 when they are down by 3, 1 time out remaining and 4 mins left on the clock.

Rodgers looked baffled as well so the decision must have been made from the sideline.

  • Cannot wait for that game.

Two great coaches with them as well.

Hope you enjoy Red, the rest of your Sunday night is going to be pants mate😊
  • Here is a dentists interpretation of our D
  • Lamar Jackson gets the start...against the one of the worst defenses in the NFL. I'm feeling overly confident @Bigbadbozman

Our D is so so bad I'd even bet on Simon Church scoring if he played😊
  • Browns considering hiring former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for their head coach job per source, reports Adam Schefter

    Weird flex but okay
  • Jackson's doing well, impressive start
  • That injury to Alex Smith..... Ouch!
  • Redskins season over. gutted.
  • Horrific break... feel terrible for Smith

Over 100 yards rushing. Over 200 yards rushing and a touchdown between him and Edwards. What a refreshing and dynamic change to this offense. Good luck getting your job back Flacco.

Connor really showed why Bell is better this game. Can’t catch for shit

    Incredible from Pittsburgh though.
  • 16-0 down with two minutes left in the third quarter and they pull out a win. Great comeback.
  • Lol that ending sums up Bortles...
  • Well worth watching the Ravens game back if you can. Great game. Lamar Jackson is the future, what a debut.
  • @The Red Robin I'll donate 30 quid to the Upbeats next payday, despite this season not entirely being on Bortles, and 20 to a charity of your choice. What's it gonna be?

  • Feel for Alex Smith. Solid player and definitely a team man.
Tonight is rare as I'm hoping the Broncos can beat the Chargers.
  • Eagles down 17-0. Jason Kelce dislocated elbow, Avonte Maddox twisted ankle and Sidney Jones is possibly finished for the day as well. This couldn't be going much worse. But hey, back to back first downs....

This is going to be a bloodbath.
