be interesting to see if we get playoffs what sort of allocation we get as shrewsbury holds about 10,000 even 15% is only 1500 and so i don't know why we are so lenient.
We are not lenient, our club wants the money from the increased sales

housing away fans in a block that is shared with home fans is going beyond the call of duty imo, in what could be a v important game for us, what is not needed is 3000+ northerners having a promotion party.

I take you back to when we played Leicester at Upton Park. They not only had they away end but it seemed half of the chicken run too. We did them that day & spoilt their party - just a shame that the Gold brothers have not wasted any time turning Upton Park into a building site.

That's life. Good luck to them.
I am happy for 3000 northerners having a promotion party, and yes, good luck to them. What I don’t want is another 2000 of them having a party in our stands!
If we get a result at Pompey then this is still a massive game for us so no way do we give them any extra tickets as 1: we should hopefully get a good turnout and 2: we don't want it to feel like a home game for them

Indeed, but this is Charlton we are talking about here

by time monday comes it will be too late am expecting us to facilitate it over the next couple of days.

It's not a case of being lenient, it's the fact we have a half empty stadium each week and the owner wants to maximise ticket revenue. If we had 25k each week and were turning fans away, then we wouldn't be doing it.
Also we're in league one, we can't expect most other sides to have large capacities. If we make the play offs and get a team who have a tiny capacity then so be it. Not many sides at this level have 25-30k stadiums, there's only 4-5 sides in the league who even average 5 figure crowds.
Net revenue from allocating extra seats is likely to be £15k-20k after costs. It’s not negligible but it’s not that significant either against the monthly wage bill.
There’s a lot more money in staging a play-off semi-final.

That was more a "too many Leicester fans have turned up for the away end, we'd better do doing" rather than a planned event. In addition, when we played Newcastle (our final game at Upton Park) there were loads of Newcastle fans in the West Stand that day
When we played Bournemouth, I could see a justification for giving them more tickets, as whereas it was a nothing game for us, it was a massive game in their history, promotion to the PL league for the first time.
For Blackburn with their history (PL winners less than 25 years ago) getting out of the 3rd division is hardly the same. Especially as it's not a dead match for us, even if we lost against Pompey.
Just had a very interesting conversation with the ticket office. I usually buy my ticket on-line & print it off at home. Golfie Jnr has a season ticket & I usually by the seat next to him (my old season ticket which I haven't renewed for the past 2 seasons). I was not aware that the tickets are now on restricted sale until I tried booking mine this afternoon.
Realising that they weren't on the system I assumed that they had been "pulled" & rang the ticket office. My usual seat looks like it has gone so I bought the one directly behind (I expect to be able to shuffle a few people around or for both of us to sit somewhere else on the day as our block normally has plenty of empty seats).
However, I was not prepared for the £2.50 booking fee. I told the very pleasant young lady that as I have always bought my ticket on-line (which they can check) AND that they can see the season ticket next to the seat I wanted to purchase was in the name of my son AND it was their decision to withdraw the sale of tickets online that I wasn't going to pay this surcharge. 3 times she apologised & said that she understood (er, no you don't) but there was nothing she could do, Tickets booked over the phone & not online are subject to a booking fee. I quite strongly suggested that she'd better go & speak to someone as this would be all over the internet in 5 minutes if she insisted on the surcharge. She came back a minute or two later to say that the surcharge would be waived. Common sense prevailed.
I suggest the comms team or someone in authority (the tea lady ??) had better sort this asap or there might be a few more people getting irate over the next few days.
If anyone knows the young lady in question then please thank her for me. I don't apologise for sticking to my guns - I wasn't rude or abusive & didn't raise my voice - just simply stated very strongly that I wasn't going to pay the surcharge & that anyone could se that I wasn't a Blackburn supporter (they have my name & address on file).

I am assuming it's their real twitter account anyway. Great news if true as this is a crucial game for us.

Must have been on Bow & JJ's advice IMO.
