Marshall might not be our most talented player, and he may have lost the ball a couple of times in awkward positions today. But fuck did he battle all day today.
What a difference two weeks makes; looking down and out after the Scunthorpe defeat, then three wins against sides near the top of the table.
I really would have loved to have been there today and not our last home game!
What a shame Plymouth pulled off a late win today; that will be some game midweek. God, I'm talking about Scunthorpe v Plymouth like it's Bayern Munich v Real Madrid!
Back to today: excellent, hard-working performance by the whole team. Best I've seen Marshall play for us, Pearce immense (a much more obvious captain than Solly as well), and no one had a poor game. I'd say we edged the first half though were outplayed in the second but, importantly, we weren't outfought. Nobody seemed scared to put their bodies in when required, though Page suffered as a result, and I was pretty sure we'd score a breakaway. It didn't happen but when was the last time I thought that?
A fiver well-spent today. I'd better save another one for next week.
Just loved the way we played 7 mins extra time - Pearce deliberately placing ball 15 yards further on from where Marshall was brought down whilst ref was talking to players, knowing that the ref would push him back, wasting another 20 seconds.
