On the harmony hairspray issue (is he/isnt he) I am split down the middle on it. My head says that I would welcome him back because he is undoubtedly our best striker......but my heart says fuck him & move on. His team mates will be a good barometer & if they are happy with him back then I suppose we should be yltoo.
We'll know in a weeks time & can judge then. Just hope that if he does play then he plays like we know he can & not half heartedly.3 -

I have no fears Lyle will be disruptive in training. In fact just turning up should give everyone a boost.
Its quite easy, play well, help keep us up, get that big move and be the next Pukki/Michu/Grant Holt... Then everyone is happy and you'll be considered a hero at Charlton and very well-respected in the wider football world.
Go on do it. Nothing stopping you, unless you're not good enough1 -

Even if he just goes training, I find that more acceptable. Better than going on strike.
I guess Bows has to judge if having Lyle around will help the strikers as a collective or harm team spirit.
@ricky_otto - you might well be pissed off as Bonne and Aneke. I see what you are saying.
Equally, Bows might be able to convince both of them that Lyle gives everyone a chance with him for the first 3. It is 3 less games for either of them 2 to break down with injury. They will still have to play a massive part whatever the decision.
Tough tough calls for LB.2 -

Going on form and fitness before the break, the only guaranteed starters I can see right now are Phillips, Lockyer, Matthews, Cullen, Williams. I know some might argue for Bonne, but he wasn't an automatic starter when coming back from injury, and Pratley, who now has a bit more competition in midfield, particularly from JFC, who is a creative midfielder in a team in desperate need of creativity in midfield, and Field, who is better in possession.
Every other spot is up for grabs, and we don't know what formation we'll play against Hull.0 -

Yes he could score a few goals to help us stay up before he leaves, he's a good player but I hope Bowyer benches him5 -

Sorry I'm clogging up this thread but I like being pedantic. You cant "unsend" something that's been sent. Its like saying you can take back something you've said. Once it's out it's out.
So if LT had "unsent" something it means diddly squat.3 -
I'd have him on the bench. With so many games in a small space of time we need all the help we can get, but he's not been in training and the players who have have earned the right to start and show what they can do. Also from a man-management point of view it sends the message that if you take the piss you don't get to walk straight back into the team, but if you try to make it right then Bowyer won't hold a grudge.

What will Taylor actually be putting effort in for?
Points? I don't think so. He's going to a different club after 3 games.
Keeping his place in the team? No
He loves Charlton? Not enough love. Obviously.
I don't actually know what would be motivating him.
He's already got a new club, so he doesn't feel a need to impress them.
He's just gana be jogging around1 -
I hope he gets boycotted by the rest of the team van hooijdonk style. Play as a team but you my friend can celebrate alone1

Taylor has shown his true colours and has admitted he is scared that he will get hurt and lose his big money deal.
He will bottle his first 50/50 or even 60/40.
Hull defenders will be aware of what has gone on. He is going to get a lot of verbal about "breaking legs", even before he touches the ball.
I trust Bowyer to do what is best for the club1 -
Everybody seems to be missing the real reason as to why Lyle has backtracked.
Elliott met with him on Friday and offered him a three year contract on five times what he was earning.
Bleedin' obvious innit.

When he moves it will be the 15th club he has played for.
No loyalty to anyone other than himself.0 -

Can't believe nobody wants him to play so an oppo player can snap him in half.
You're, mostly, far too forgiving.6 -
