Maybe it's not just about money as everyone is assuming, he's got potentially one last contract to have a chance to play in prem whether that's off the bat or joining a team who will be there or there abouts in a year.
Hard not to like, Lyle. Absolute world class shithouse. The finish against Barnsley he made look so easy, none of our other strikers score that imo.
I'm pretty sure he's a stubborn soul so he'll be off in the summer. If not Prem then good enough for a top Championship where the money is a huge jump up.
He also doesnt know how they'll complete this season
Mentions that the £250k that would be needed for testing, to hole the players up in a hotel like in the Premier League would pay EVERYONE at Charlton for two weeks
Good on you, Lyle. He has nothing to lose or gain, irrespective of what happens to Charlton because he will be playing elsewhere next season and good luck to him. If the EFL decide to finish the season and it goes beyond 30 June then I hope that players like Lyle, who would then be out of contract and not looking to re-sign, refuse to play. They would certainly be within their rights and I'm sure would receive the backing of the courts. A contract is a contract and you can't just arbitrarily change the terms.
Roland was penny pinching again. Never leant his lesson with Yann, Grant, Aribo and Taylor. Have to pay good players the going rate.
He decided against paying the going rate and we are in a position where Taylor will walk for free.
Roland made many mistakes, but one of the worst was the inability to keep key players under contract.
Managing contracts was never done in a proactive, business like manner - "this is a key appreciating asset, who will be worth millions more as a result if tied up with a 3 year deal" - but rather was done in a "leave it to the last moment, oh sh*t they don't want to sign" way...
That is so depressing. I fear for our great club. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lyle has even more inside information on what’s been going on but can’t say for legal reasons. Perhaps we’ll hear more when he leaves because I can’t see him staying whilst these unfit and improper owners are destroying our club. I wish him the best of luck wherever he decides to ply his trade.
Well that is very depressing, not only the 'circus' quote but the nonsense with the fiasco with the contract, and frankly the lack of respect shown to Lyle, to me he is the key to survival in the championship. How on earth do we go forward without players like him.

Early fact: Roland was a bellend!! - Offered Lyle a new deal in September, had it been offered in the summer then Lyle would have signed
Instead in the summer; Roland was a c**t as usual and nothing happened
Southall turned up, uses Taylor as a scapegoat by saying that Lyle rejected a new deal yet in fact he'd been offered less than what Roland offered
Says the club is being ran as a circus and the only people losing are us the fans
On a worrying note he doesnt see anyway out of this other than an AFC Charlton
To summarise, prepare to be angry watching this... Not with Lyle but with Southall and Roland

Everything after that is terrifying. Doesn’t Sound like much light at the end of the tunnel.
Just caught up on that video. Depressing.
Fair play to Lyle, top player and a top man. Southall is a total and utter cnut, not that we didn't know that anyway.
Taylor = proper good guy.
We already knew that.
Then again there are a lot of idiot fans who post without thinking on the Social Media platforms

prick owners of the highest order continually outc**ting each other
Starting to think this is all a long term strategic plan from Roland.
Southall is an utter complete c*nt but Roland has had many of those pets and he might just be another one.
"outc***ing each other"
If anything it confirm they're both as bad as each other
Very impressive and, if he wants it, a career as a pundit beckons once he stops playing.
