Listening. I don't think he will play for us in these last 9 games.
I don't think we can say either way. I think he's just being honest, like he's said before he's professional and he'll turn up and do his job but completely agree that if things aren't safe then he absolutely has the right to walk away as does anyone else involved in this charade.
I still think Lyle will be gone the first chance he gets but given the current state of contract uncertainty for all players, I wonder what his options will really will be in the marketplace.
Well worth a watch/listen. He still comes across as someone who would do very well for himself in whatever he chooses to do with his life. Also so refreshing to hear a professional sportsperson speak open and honestly about anything they are asked rather than the media trained robots we've become accustomed to.
Lyle mentioning his injury at Swansea saying he'd played for two weeks prior is why the Management team deserve no criticism for the Bonne incident at Middlesbrough.
If the Management team dont get told of a problem, they won't know the extent of it
Makes you realise how often how little supporters know and how judgemental they are.
when he come off at half time v Swansea, the injury had happened two weeks before, he played three games with it and had a shot before ko so he could play.

And im sure fans said he was sulking
Yeah I'll hold my hands up for that one
Im a rare one to question a players attitude as remember Andy Hunt's last game but that evening I really thought something deeper was at play and that his head wasnt in the right place

I was one. And I got it wrong, so apologise to him for believing that. Probably a sign of how much you question motives, attitudes and commitment when the wheels are falling off.
This was a great watch. So good to see someone willing to break away from a party line.
Comments
Wish him well wherever his life takes him; I think he would be a good fit for a media career, as others have mooted.
Proper Charlton.
For anyone that needs the link, should take you straight to it, just make sure you have a free hour lol

Who is the lad interviewing him? Is he Charlton? He certainly knows his stuff about us.
Most entertaining player we've had at Charlton for years.
The way Lyle talks about southall and what he calls him, as soon as Southall finds out he will threaten a law suit unless it gets removed haha
