  • Killie three down. Dyer out.
  • Shame - it just seems a bit of a waste of time to have such a foregone conclusion to the league every year.

How accurate would people say these figures are?

Fairly accurate i guess given that Aberdeen's top scorer went to Salford for a higher salary!
  • Celtic are playing like Barcelona according to a mate at the game. I think they will start to run away from the rest now.
  • Celtic are the only team in that league capable of taking a team apart like that. Certainly sending out a statement.

Indeed.... That gap was the same when the other lot won 9 in a row.. Didn't hear much complaining about it then... Wonder what Man City are paying in wages compared to say Everton, or even Cardiff.

Compare man city wages to Cardiff is stupid.

Who's complaining? I was praising the Kilmarnock management, not sure what that has to do with Rangers winning 9 in a row.

Celtic certainly have a famous reputation across Europe but mainly through their past success and I'm sure a more competitive domestic league would help them push on more in Europe. Can't really compare the Scottish league to the biggest European ones. Maybe the Dutch one would be a close comparison but at least there are three big teams there - Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord, and a couple of other teams have challenged for the title in recent years.

Just reckon it must be frustrating for the average Scottish football fan to have one such dominant team for a long time. That's why I was hoping Hearts could give Celtic a good run for the title.

Celtic fans seem to be great supporters of their club, especially away in Europe (always remember their amazing support in Sevilla in 2003) but am surprised how many fans they have in England considering how 'anti British' they are, especially with the Irish history and connection. Always thought that Rangers is the more obvious Scottish team for Brits to follow, or maybe Hearts as well.

When I was growing up in London in the 60s and 70s the distinction between Rangers and Celtic was bit like that between Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid. Rangers were establishment, hard right wing, nationalist, and hard sectarian (they refused to knowingly sign a catholic until Sourness came along; indeed, it was a bad career move to even marry a catholic as Alex Ferguson found out) and anti civil rights. Celtic were anti establishment, pro civil rights, anti Nazi, and, it did not matter what religion a player was born into, if he was good enough he could play for Celtic e.g. Kenny Dalglish.
Celtic fans were anti-Nazi secular socialists and Rangers fans weren't? Better tell that to my Glasgow-born grandparents, Rangers supporters, Labour voters, and who actually fought Nazis in WW2 and had family across the religious divide.

Always? Are you sure, i've looked back through this thread and there's 3-4 comments in a thread that is over 4 months old.

Yes i prefer Rangers to Celtic, and have done since the likes of Chris Woods, Terry Butcher, Trevor steven, Mark Hateley etc all played there, i make no secret of that. But ultimately it makes no difference to my life if Celtic win 10, 20 or 30 in a row. But it takes a special kind of obsessive to somehow turn a complimentary post about Kilmarnock into you having a dig at Rangers.

Long trip from Glasgow to Dundee must have been tired, shame I still didn't have my house in Kinross, they could have stayed over last night.

Also another reason why I think the Scottish league at the moment deserves respect, a league which the Majority of teams actually lives within their means at this current time. I think it was as many as 8 teams (including Celtic who are obviously at a big advantage) who made pre tax profit from the last financial year. When you look at teams like Bolton littered with millions of pounds worth of debt and probably still spending more than everyone bar Celtic on wages.

With regards to the game. I never attended in the end in typical fashion of Beer 10 Old Man 0 but the result was obviously a real statement against the in form team.

Wish him well and hope he overcomes his problems.

Good to see this being discussed openly so allowing him to move on and get help. Might help others too.
