Come on, you felt something when Millwall reached the cup final.
watched that in The Buff at Orpington. Laughed a lot at the amount of complete tools all of sudden Wall in there. They didn't even go to the final in Cardiff but spent the whole match arguing between themselves about how Wall they are. bunch of soppy twats.
Aberdeen the last Scottish team to win it in 1985 . Been shared between the British and Irish since .

In my opinion this was Alex Ferguson's greatest achievement He is the only manager to consistently challenge the Old Firm and was also successful in Europe.

A wonderful achievement - to win the league with six games remaining, having lost no games and conceding only 9 goals all season is remarkable. One of the most dominant Rangers teams I can remember.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in the summer, I wonder if the English players - Kent, Aribo, Tavernier - will see that as “job done” and want to try their hand back down south.
Haven't watched much this season. Did Aribo play much? A lot of team sheets I only seen him as listed as sub but maybe they were the big games. How has he performed when played this season. The the fans rate him?

Yeah he’s played a lot, and has chipped in with a few goals too. Fans love him, bit of a cult hero thing - he’s not the best player in the team (not even the best player in his position) but he’s exciting and has a touch of class.
I think he could do with another season with Rangers, I don’t think he’s at English Premier League standard yet, but if his progression continues on this trajectory he has a good chance of getting there.

Nice to hear, appreciate that thanks. I've always thought he would get to a high level, he had something special about him even playing for us. Be a good experience for him another season at Rangers, plus fans back and a full stadium will be added experience.
It’s almost inconceivable that anyone else could win the SPL nowadays. The chance would have been when Rangers were out of the league, and Aberdeen had a decent team during that period, but not one really came close to challenging Celtic. To put it into context I honestly think there’s more chance of Charlton winning the Premier League in the next 10 years than any team outside of the Old Firm winning the SPL.

Two bob football, it has been for decades. Apart from Aberdeen, has anybody else won the title?

Yeah Dundee Utd won it the year before Aberdeen almost 40 years ago.
I don’t really think it’s “two bob football” or a “pub league” I think the standard is fairly high for a small country’s league (Scotland has about 10% of the population of England or half the population of Sweden). I’ve been to a couple of games in Denmark and one in Finland, both countries which have comparable population sizes to Scotland, and the SPL is a better standard based on those very anecdotal experiences.
It’s nowhere near the standard of the top leagues in Europe and light years worse than the English top flight, but I’m not sure those are sensible comparisons given the population and resource differences. I would say the SPL is probably lower English Championship at best with the bottom of the SPL being akin to the middle of league one (I went to Hamilton v St Mirren before lockdown and Charlton would probably be competitive against either of those teams). I think that’s fairly decent for a small country, but I like watching football all around the world whenever I get a chance to travel so can accept that not everything is going to be Premier League standard, if people are expecting every league everywhere to be of that standard then I can understand why the SPL wouldn’t live up to those expectations.

Would take a perfect storm season like Leicester had - a team gelling perfectly etc while Celtic and Rangers both having seasons like Celtic have had this year.

Bottom 4 SPL, League 2 level?
Hard to say as I don’t watch much L2 but I think that might be slightly harsh. Hamilton are perennially the worst/one of the worst teams in the SPL (this might be the year they finally run out of luck and go down) and I reckon they are about mid to lower English League 1.

I have groundhopped over half the Scotland circuit and had a thoroughly good time. I will give the fans credit with their passion(they put us to shame), even down to seeing the likes of East Fife and Albion Rovers. For Celtic and Rangers to pull in 50k every week is amazing.
Aberdeen the last Scottish team to win it in 1985 . Been shared between the British and Irish since .

Do we remember when Bowyer criticised Aribo for going there? A league title, decent run in the Europa and gets to play Champions league football next season.

It is all about opinions.
I suspect the treble he won with Man Utd will be repeated before a non Glasgow club wins a Scottish title. Indeed Pep may do it this year.
Jim McLean's Dundee United were also a good side ( including the famous Ralph Milne) but he only grabbed one title. Fergie's achievement was that he challenged over a long period of time and won three titles.

I bet he's gutted he ever left.
Not just Bowyer, quite a few here too...
I took pelters in the Aribo thread
I'm sure there were people saying he should've gone to a team like Derby in the championship as that would've been a bigger step than Rangers. But Rangers guarantees you a shout of trophies and European football.
In the late 80s, half the England team went to Rangers because English clubs were banned from Europe because of Heysel. European football is a huge pull for players.

didn't even realise that Hearts are in the second division. Though they look like they are coming straight back up.
Used to think that either they or Hibs could possibly take the Old Firm on at wining the league.
we were relegated after they stopped the league last season due to covid.
i genuinely believe we could have won it in 05/06 if that mental cunt Romanov didn't get rid of George Burley and replace him with that Nonce Graham Rix

Aribo has looked okay but his decision making is sometimes suspect and for me he loses possession too often.
Gerrard has done a good job with the team.
