Great for the Spanish league and shows it's far more open than some people think. Hopefully Atletico and Sevilla can win tomorrow to keep the pressure on at the top.
Madrid seemingly paying the price for not strengthening in attacking areas in the summer. Just 12 goals scored in 8 games, Ronaldo usually had more than that on his own by now.
If they don't win at home to Levante next game, then i wonder if defeat in the Clasico after that will result in Lopategui getting the sack.
Alaves went top last night due to their win over Celta Vigo but will be dislodged today by either Real Madrid or one of Barcelona or Sevilla who play each other tonight.
Win for Sevilla in the Nou Camp will make it a really interesting season and will turn them into genuine title contenders. I fear that Barca are going to thump them though.
Big pressure for Lopetegui with Real Madrid against Levante today in the early kick off and a lot of questions being asked about his future at the world's least patient football club.
It's been a great season so far and hoping the title race stays really close, with a non-Barca/Real team winning it!
Real Madrid two nil down at home after just 13 minutes to Levante. If it stays like this Lopetegui will probably be gone before next week's El Clasico.
Suspect we will soon be finding out whether Poch is still committed to Spurs after their lack of transfer activity over the summer.
Won't be cheap though.
Lopetegui has a 3 year deal, so they have to pay him off. Then they have to pay for Pochettino who only signed a 5 year deal in the summer so it certainly won't be cheap to buy him out of that either.
Which makes me think they might go for Conte or Wenger.
Messi scores one and assists one in the first 15 minutes............but then is taken off with a pretty serious looking arm injury. Not what Barca wanted ahead of the clasico next week
Win for Barcelona against Sevilla last night along with Atletico only drawing against Villareal means Barca now look a bit more comfortable at the top and I imagine they will not drop many more points now.
In second division news, RD's Alcorcon are surprisingly in second place now in the automatic promotion places after beating close rivals Granada yesterday. It was a poor season for them last year but they are flying now, though with Deportivo and other big teams are just behind them. There have been some surprisingly small teams going up in recent years (Huesca, Eibar, Leganes, Girona) so maybe it's Alcorcon's turn.
Only takes a win next week and Real are a point behind Barca, just shows the pressure at the big clubs that there has been so much speculation over sacking Lopetegui.
That move to Real might have been terrible for everyone (except maybe Luis Enrique) - Lopetegui misses the World Cup and then takes at Real, Spain have a poor World Cup, and Real start badly.

The pressure has come from an abysmal run though - they haven't won in their last five games, losing four of them, and hadn't scored for over eight hours of play before yesterday's consolation goal in another defeat. Barcelona themselves hadn't had a particularly strong start to the season, but Madrid's is shocking - they could drop down to sixth or seventh today if Espanyol and Valladolid win.
Espanyol up to second, one point off their city rivals Barcelona. Real Madrid down to sixth and could fall to seventh if either Betis or Valladolid win tonight. Great to see some different teams in the European places, even though it's only the end of October.
Barcelona making very easy work over Real Madrid at the moment. As much as I dislike the guy it's clear that Ronaldo had been absolutely crucial for Real. They look a shadow of the team without him and not replacing him at all has been a ridiculous decision. They'll be ninth if it stays like this today.
Could easily end up 4 or 5 to Barca. Madrid certainly missing Ronaldo but that side has still got plenty of world class talent. Thought Bale would relish stepping out of his shadow, but the whole team looks devoid of confidence and self-belief.

Barca have draw to Girona and lost to Leganes.
Real Madrid have lost to Alves and draw with Bilbao
Atletico have lost to Celta and drew with Eibar

I'm pretty sure Barcelona will come back against Valencia though...

Surely the end of Lopetegui.
Dismal run of form. Just 4 wins and 13 goals in 9 games.
