Way back, Charlton said it was also looking into the possibility of legal action and would support Sheffield. What happened to that notion, anyone know?

We went down.
The four clubs (Wigan, us, Watford, Sheffield Utd) agreed to support each other and the club that stayed up would contribute financially which I believe Wigan did.

It was at the time, happy to support Fulham. Al Fayed was leading everything and chucking money at it. My understanding is we were happy to play a part, as long as it had no financial drain on us.
