Only really one batting spot up for grabs. Sure I've missed someone.
Would pay some good money to watch that.
My WC 15 in bold. Harsh on Plunkett and Willey but the likes of Tom Curran and Jordan have been in great form recently and Archer has to be included.
Difficult to disagree with that. I think Plunkett will make the cut as he is very much viewed as the senior bowler. Don't think he will play. Think Willey will also make the squad as they will want a left arm option in there and his swing could be useful in home conditions. Again don't think he will play though.
Would probably be a lot more useful than ODI v Ireland!
We actually did something similar before the t20 world cup that we won.
England played England lions and lost. It was that match which triggers getting rid of the opening partnership of Trott/Denly which really wasn't working and replaced it with Kieswetter/Lumb who were kwy to us winning that tournament. That change allowed us to bring in Luke Wright for Matt Prior and he contributed with bat and ball that tournament.
Haha fair point. That tournament does stick in the mind for me. It was the only time (until the champions trophy 2017) that we went into a limited overs tournament with a limited overs squad. We picked specialist players an played them in their right roles and it worked. Just majorly frustrating that we had that period after when we went back to picking test players in one day squads and hoping for a miracle. The days of a cook bell trott top 3 were painful.
