We could get someone on a free, and could be a flop, but he could be a success.
We could also pay a fee for someone and be a flop (many times this has happened).
Let the fella have a few games before passing judgment, surely? Lol
Seem to remember Kermogant was out in the cold before he joined us. Didn’t he end up back in France before coming to us cos the Leicester fans drove him out.
Also, even if Roland would spend, would you spend a sizeable amount of your transfer budget on a second choice left back?
Yeah I think this is very a good point. A youngish player who could cover both fullback positions would be someone I'd spend money on. But just a LB specialist, when we have a good first choice LB and two or three players who can cover there, it's not somewhere I'd look to spend a big chunk of change.
Not much of a shock, I've heard incoming players will be loans only this window, haven't heard any names yet.
A left back and a replacement for Ward would be my guess. Doubt there will be more than that as we can only have up to 5 loanees in a match day squad.
In an ideal world we would move Ajose on and get another center forward who is a target man in, but just can't see that happening. I personally think Ajose is a very decent fourth choice forward in this league, it's just unfortunate that we don't have any natural cover for Lyle Taylor.
Beyond that, the only other place I'd really look to strengthen is fullback. I know we're looking light in midfield at the moment but a lot will depend on how long Aribo is out for. I think Bowyer said Cullen is back like late Jan. So if we get Aribo back around then we're having to pick a midfield from: Bielik, Cullen, Aribo, Reeves, Fosu, Marshall, Pratley, Lapslie. And it's worth remembering Dijksteel can play i midfield as well (moreso if we get fullback cover). For me, it's hard to bring in another midfielder when you have that group. Now, obviously injuries and suspensions have and will continue to take their toll, but I suspect it's going to be hard to convince a club to loan us a decent player when they're competing with five or six for a central midfield two or three.

I've always thought that Ward was a slight luxury signing, when compared to the lack of cover at LB, especially when Sarr is also CB cover, and Bielik defensive midfield cover
In retrospect, with Clarke's recovery taking longer than hoped and Fosu being well down on his level last season, it probably wasn't such a bad signing, but less of a priority than someone who can play the "modern" attacking LB role.
Aston Villa are favourites to sign Burnley and England goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who is third choice at Turf Moor. (Mirror)
Could be good news for our chances of keeping Steer.
Heaton must be gutted. Was England no1, gets injured and now not in the international set up or the Premier League. Shows why players make moves when they can.
Thats a lie, he was in the main 2/3 keepers at some point but was never no1
If you remember when Tom Heaton had that magnificent game at Old Trafford, 0-0 I believe, he was considered by many to be England's number 1, but Joe Hart still had the shirt and was still the first choice keeper by the national manager.
It took Pep to arrive at City to see that Hart had serious flaws in his game.

Ifs and buts, i thought at the time he should be the no1 , but he wasnt
Bowyer explained that he is hoping to swoop for a couple of match fit, experienced players early in the transfer window: "I hope to bring in one or two quickly, we have to, because we have got no bodies. "We have to bring in at least two who are fit and can play. "We are trying our hardest to find a left-back but there are not many out there who can come and play, apart from kids – and we don’t want to take a kid who is unproven.

Pellegrini had already worked out that Hart wasn’t very good
As above we have 13 players that are currently out of contract at the end of the season.
If and possibly It's looking very likely that we still have the same owner by the end of next month.
A couple of decent offers for one or two of those, and he would have no hesitation of taking the money.
At this point I think only Aribo and Bauer would command a fee. Perhaps Fosu but he’s injured and can’t see anyone buying a crock in January especially if said players contract expires in the summer.

When did Fosu get injured ?
Yeah sorry. Brain fart. I meant really to be on about Aribo.

Well no one is going to take Igor, Ajose, Reeves or Clarke in this window, as they're either on big wages or too injury prone (or both). JFC is out for the season, Aribo is now out for a while.
Bauer i'm convinced is going to see out the season and take a decent signing on fee at his next club.
Phillips, Lapslie and RHF we could probably do a whip round on here and buy them for what they'd be worth.

. Why do you think Ajose doesnt go anywhere? High wages and lack of talent the most likely reasons

Seems to get beat from distance a fair few times.
Well the only thing is Hart has replaced an Injured Pope.
Some of the goals he conceded on Saturday were poor 2 of them he could of saved but was slow getting down to the ball

Declan John (Swansea). Moved there in the summer from Rangers. Welsh International. Was preferred to Morgan Fox and Rhoys Wiggins.
Conor Townsend (West Brom). Vastly experienced. Only played four times since his moved from Scunthorpe. Has failed to dislodge Keiran Gibbs.
Josh Tymon (Stoke). Not played as many games as the other two. Was at MKD on loan last season. England U20 International.
