They never ban but restrict you to pennies , they are pathetic .
They didn’t like the style of my betting so reduced my stakes to pennies .
restricted to £10 winnings on racing myself.

If I get a Saturday morning boost it is a 50p maximum bet whatever the price!
You must be getting on somewhere else then, I presume?

Total sports betting transactions £53 billion so someone is getting on!

Had Both Ward and Aribo on first and last goal.

All great until Grant scored but as we also had 3 - 1 win we're in the money.

    Take that bookies!

I think there is a proliferation of betting adverts on tv these days. Every time I watch a live game you are hammered. I’ve never had a problem with betting as an industry on any ethical or moral grounds. It can be fun if you treat it like that. I remember first getting into accas in the early 2000s and going to my local coral and picking one result from each section. The sections increased in difficulty to call as you went on, usually Celtic in the top section and then a game like Stoke v WBA in the bottom section. I used to love it. You picked 1 from each section, 5 in total, and you’d get decent odds like 25/1. £5 every week and I remember winning a few times as well.

I then didn’t really think about betting for a long time and picked up again in the advent of online. I was gutted to see that the odds for things like that sections list coral used to do dropped quite a bit, they were obviously losing too much money on that offering.

Football is a bastard of a game to bet on now. It’s not as clear cut as it used to be imo. And with the advent of online, you have so much choice, probably too much. Different apps, different offers, different methodologies. I would love to be one of these people that can do well from it, but whenever I have some winnings, it’s just luck, and I have to remember that. What doesn’t help are the beat the bookies type things on Twitter. Don’t get me wrong they are good and I’ve won of tips from them, but you start to convince yourself you have a grays sports almanac at your disposal and before you know it, you get wound up and frustrated and can lose money

As others have said, if you can, just treat it as fun. The thing I do now is a syndicate with 9 other mates. We each throw a fiver in every week and take it in turns to choose what we place our £50 on. We started at the beginning of last season and we’ve only got £2700 in the pot, which means we are well down, but in a few years, hopefully that’s a proper decent holiday together if we can start seeing some decent wins. At the moment that’s just a mother of a VIP night at a whetherspoons for us.

I actually prefer this to putting my own bets now. It’s more communal and keeps it fun.

As for the original topic, it’s good to look beyond the headline. Clearly she’s paid her dues and gives back to society and has been successful. We’ve read first hand about her charity work and someone has even posted about the ethos and culture of the company and how their family member likes working there. As far as I’m concerned, this is a success story for British business. Long may it continue

    Yeah the people losing!

In all seriousness, I can't anymore. Just at the local bookies for a few quid on a Saturday.

As I have stated, I used to be a Matched Bettor and I get why bookies wouldn't want me as a customer. But in some cases I made losses and still got banned. It was purely because I took value.

As an example, I signed up and bet £50 on a 6/1 shot. The true odds of the horse at that time was 5/1 but it was a Saturday morning 'pricewise' boost. I layed it off at around 6.4 for a risk free shot at around £30. That qualified for me for a free £50 bet and I did the same the next Morning. Both horses are still running now.

That particular bookmaker could not have known I was a matched bettor. They heavily restricted me straight away despite the fact I had been a member for 48 hours, and had deposited and lost £50. I am almost certain it is was purely because I took value.

I get the fact you work for Bet365 but you know full well that bookmakers including yours are quick to restrict. It doesn't even have to be winners, it's just customers who want value and don't want to bet stupid money in the casino or a horse that is shortened up 2 minutes before the off.

I wish I could say I was templegate but unfortunately was purely free bet offers, boosts, taking value and not spending hours on roulette!

I don't deny any of what you say. Bookmakers are smart operators and by your own admission you understand why bookmakers wouldn't want you as a customer, and you would be surprised, perhaps, at how quickly they will suss a customer out. My point in asking the question (I already guessed the answer) was that it isn't just bet365 and you say you can't get on anywhere apart from a few quick in the local bookies.

We have millions of winning customers but those who give us a good mix of business can continue to get on what they want. If a punter wins then good luck to them - we don't restrict winning customers, we restrict customers whose behaviour will inevitably lead to them winning in the long run.

Why don't you use an exchange like Betfair or betdaq? Although i know liquidity isn't great on betdaq.

I do sometimes use Smarkets. I used betting as a way of making money, I'm not particularly bothered anymore. I can bet whatever I need to at my local bookmakers. The days of matched betting are over for me.

Ah absolutely, I am not saying Bet365 are the only ones to do this. In fact, my 365 account was one of the last major ones to go. The example I gave was a well known online operator but not one of the big high street bookies.

My point is that personally I do not believe bookies should be allowed to advertise every 10 minutes, send a series of emails encouraging their losers to bet more all whilst banning/restricting any customer that dare win in the long haul. That is clearly IMO not right morally and more should be done about it.
