At home with the missus and her old man.

I’m not the greatest fan of turkey but her dad is. We got a turkey crown to keep him happy with a ‘side’ of fire rib of beef for me.

    All the trimmings.

I'm making my usual take on scotch eggs for over Christmas and they're called English Eggs, not as sour as the scotch type.

Got a lump of boar in the freezer that'll be consumed at some point too
  • Four of us (Dad, brother, wife & I) I’m cooking it for the first time ever, it’s lamb shoulder so should be fairly straight forwards & as I did a big 6kg turkey on Friday successfully I feel like I can take on the world!

Will also have roast potatoes, carrots, red cabbage, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire’s, have a double oven which makes things a bit easier. Categorically no Brussels, especially not whilst Roland is still here!
  • Working 25th and 26th. Christmas dinner on the 27th
  • Great thread btw

  • Total tradition, out 1st thing to bag a pheasant, + of course Turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing & Christmas pudding, Queens speech at 1500 all washed down with Mead and Ale followed by silly family games - bloody marvellous.
  • Me & my 3 kids. I'm cooking......

    Turkey
    Ham
    Roast pots
Veg (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower & peas)
    Pigs in blankets

Dessert - Chocolate Yule log & cream.

Dishwasher can take care of the washing up afterwards.
  • Won’t be at home cooking for everyone for the first time in years. Was disappointed at first but we’re all round to my sisters in Tonbridge who’ll be cooking a traditional turkey dinner. Realised all I have to do is turn up with a load of booze and be fed. Don’t have to worry about planning, buying & cooking the dinner at all.

They live next door to a pub so will be in there at lunchtime with the BIL.
  • I will cook for four.

    Fruit juice and sparkling wine.
    Roast Quorn and veggie gravy.
    Roast maris piper.
    Roast sprouts.
    Peas and carrots, maybe cauli.
    Nice Chianti with that.
    M&S Christmas pudding.(veggie)
    Mince pies.(veggie)
Nuts chocolate nibbles and cheese and crackers.
    Panatone.
    Real Coffee.
    Sandwiches later if wanted.

    Boxing day football at Coventry.
  • I do miss Christmas Day drink in the pub.
  • 7 sitting down for dinner, I do it as the wife’s a veggie and not a fan of putting her hand up a turkeys arse

    Roasts
    Parsnips
    Carrots in thyme and honey
    Yorkshire puds
    Pigs in blankets
    Stuffing
    Cauliflower cheese
    Cabbage with bacon and chestnuts

Glass of something on the go, kids constantly asking me to build stuff or put batteries in, the mental last 10 minutes when it all comes together, queens speech, frozen on the box, love it

    Merry Christmas
  • Round to the future In-Laws - which I’m dreading. 10 cans of San Miguel for Breakfast should help get me through the day.
