Bielik is no way coming back, if he did go to the championship it would be a top 6 team, not us.
Make you right. He had a stunning U21 tournie, couple of goals, bossed it against Italy. All sorts of Serie A and Bundesliga sides now in the frame.

Personally I think we need more mobility at DM next season. Be interesting to see what LB is thinking
  • Wonder how much that percentage increases if we get Bielik, Cullen and Williams back.
A lot, especially for Bielik and Cullen
  • Interesting the LB says Lockyer is the replacement for Bauer and that Anele will be playing as a no.10
Aneke is as much about his creativity as he is about goalscoring. If he plays as a second striker I'd fear that with him wandering, and Lyle pulling wide we'd end up with nobody up top!

Happened a lot in the playoffs with Parker also pulling out wide or dropping deep, especially the second leg

Which pulls the defence all over the place or creates an overload down the sides. It is then all about what use the midfielders make of the space.

Can’t see where it says the other is very close
  • I am very happy with Purrington coming back, never expected it, now with Page and Ben we have two young very decent left backs, a position we shouldn't now need to to worry about for the next 5 years or so.

I have to say I'm starting to feel sorry for Williams if we don't sign him though, he is on record saying he wants to sign, willing to take a wage cut, travelled with us and if we don't sign him we have splashed cash on 4 different players, 2 paying a 6 figure fee for
  • Actually very happy about this, really liked him last season.

Squad dismantled but Bowyer is putting it back together again very well.
Still think the hardest thing will be the Bielik/ Cullen replacements, but have a feeling we can get Josh back at least.
I'm hoping we get Cullen back but JFC is absolutely class and can certainly make the Cullen role his own imo. Bielik is the big one for me

Oh nice one. My feed isn’t up to date for some reason - I have three tweets. One saying a deal close, one saying ‘very close’, then the Purrington reveal. Nothing about another close on top of him

  • I took it as he meant Purrington was close, very close. Why are we paying fees for players?
  • Good news. I'm not surprised really, Rotherham signed him for £300k and he's hardly played there, it makes sense for all for them to cut their losses

  • Good news thought Purrington was a reliable defender and was getting better and better.
  • So a keeper and CB away from defence being sorted?

a striker or two away from that being sorted.

but who in midfield, Lapslie and Morgan would be best off on loan getting 30+ games in L1 but are they the only midfielders we currently have outside of Pratley and Aneke if he is considered midfield and not up front.
  • Another signing today I heard.
    Very Zoon.

No that’s talking about Purrington..... it was tweeted before he then revealed it was BP signing.

sure there will be more signings very close but Cawley has only spoken about Purrington today

Linked with Glenn Whelan who has just left Villa.
With such a young squad he could be a fantastic signing. Great player and a good professional.
Personally, I think he's well past his best and has looked poor the last few seasons.
I'd rather we looked elsewhere, even if he's free.
But I accept beggars can't be choosers.
  • With Aubameyang and Lacazette ahead of him, i don't really think he needs to wait to see how it will go.
Fairly strong rumours Aubameyang will be let go to make room for Zaha though. And he's not an out and out striker so think there's half a chance Nketiah will be in and around the Arsenal squad to be honest.
I keep seeing this rumour and it baffles me, Aubameyang is 10 times the player Zaha is
Doesn’t throw himself to the ground to win penalties as much as Zaha, allegedly.

My bad just checked the times he tweeted, Twitter ordered them different on my timeline.
  • Glenn Whelan will not be joining us. Happy to agree to tattoo his face on my arse if he did, no chance.
