In the 2004-5 season goalkeepers Ronald Waterreus and Nick Colgan faced each in an English league cup tie. Waterreus' Man City beat Colgan's Barnsley 7-1.
4 months later the two keepers faced each other again, but this time in a Scottish cup tie, Rangers v Dundee United. Waterreus' Rangers beat Colgan's Dundee United.........7-1.
Everton took more points in their first 6 matches (13) than they did in their next 23 games (12). They also won more matches in those first 6 games (4) than they did in the subsequent 23 (3).
Said on sky last night that for the first time in premiership history that a team i.e Everton in this case, had scored two penalties in the first half of a game, astonishing statistic considering the amount of games played.

That is astonishing. I remember Euell getting 2 against Everton (?) but assume they were separate halves.

I'm not having that, there's been 11,000 odd games, not one with two penalties scored in the first half before last night?!

They were also the reigning champions at the time.
The year above they conceded 14 less than the team below them, and actually ended up with a positive goal difference!

First in an away game maybe?
First to do it then lose?
