Unfortunately Adrian missed it just as it pulled away.

this is a bit new to me as of tonight tbh - the much vaunted "Puskas penalty" - he actually hit it quite hard with his side foot as opposed to what i'd been led to believe was a simple side foot pass into the middle (watch it if you don't believe me)

Did a football manager save as SKA Khabarovsk on fm20 got to the champions league group stage and got a good laugh out of the news report about Porto making the 24,000 km round trip on a Tuesday night.

In South Korean slang, the phrase ‘rijeu sijeol’ (리즈 시절) means ‘one’s best years, heyday’. It literally translates as ‘Leeds days’ and was coined when Alan Smith left Leeds for Manchester United where he played (not as impressively) alongside the South Korean Park Ji-Sung.

Don't expect any 'Like's for something that associates 'Leeds' with 'good'.

Joaquin could forever remain the last footballer to play in a Manchester United game who was born before Bryan Robson joined Manchester United.

Haaland is only the 3rd player to score 5 in a champions league match.  Messi and Luiz Adriano are the other two.

Hopefully, he's saving the other 14 for next year's fixture.

Up until January 1979 the club that had won the most FA Cup finals at Wembley was Newcastle United with 5 wins.
Arsenal had 4 wins and Tottenham and Manchester City 3wins each.
Funny how times change for some clubs and not others.
  • Erling Haaland has scored more hat-tricks in all competitions this season (six) than every other Premier League player combined (five).

He’s scored more hat tricks than games he’s failed to score in.

Edit: also Haaland is the first player to score hat-tricks in the top flight, the FA Cup and the European Cup / Champions League in the same season since Liverpool’s John Wark in 1984-85.
