I'm amazed they've not sold the away allocation. Surely down to restrictions ?
no hotels, trains are extortionate - and you have to stop overnight , its fucking long coach journey.
we wont know but i think had that been us we would of struggled to sell a 1000.
we'd have sold a lot more than 1k
how do you know that?. some are commenting about a train costing 100 quid.
return train to sunderland £125.60
hotel for the night - literally none available due to the rugby and you have to stay overnight or a 10 hour round trip in the car with no traffic. our support has been fantastic this season and its been great, but overnight we have not become a well followed club our away support has always been a little light we have failed to sell out gillingham, millwall numerous times.
when push comes to shove and for 'big' games, our support is far better than a lot of people realise.
Looks like some people have had a few issues, and there is room for improvement, but overall much better than in previous years. Ordered mine on Sunday and Monday with no problem or delay. Well done to the club.
My home tickets turned up this afternoon, but no away tickets yet. Hope the club is giving some thought as to how to deal with postal delays. I’m setting off on Friday at lunch time for a weekend Up North so need the tickets to turn up tomorrow. If it does become a problem I expect I’ll have to take it up with the Donny ticket office, but be good to have some guidance from the club.
It’s all about the away numbers , we’re like a real club with proper away support
it’s like the Ipswich play off home game in 1998 when we had real passionate noise for once from around the ground , I reckon we’ll have some of the same for the home leg .
Special night that one. Rather warm evening if I recall & the roof had come off the West stand making it look a bit surreal. Newton's goal just topped it all off. a bit like this season.........just thought we weren't going to lose once we'd scored.
Saw saw on the Donny forum, that the total takings from the playoff semi finals are put into a single pot with 50% to the EFL and 12.5% to each of the 4 teams. Surely this cannot be correct ?

Was proper muggy that night, sweating while standing still kind of weather. Probably the best atmosphere I've experienced at the Valley. A very special evening. Even missing Mendonca couldn't stop us. We just had the momentum, desire and belief that year. A special season in general and many similarities to this season.
A lot of similarities between this year and 98. Agree with @golfaddick -always feel that if we score first, we've won. We've been tough to break down all year, and now we're adding goals to our game. We've reason to feel confident - as weird as that may seem.

I am sure that was the case last season as well, agree that it does'nt seem fair though.
My home and away tickets arrived in the post today, well done the ticket office staff
Same here, having been a critic of the ticket office staff/system in the past i can only say that the service has worked superbly all season for me.
If you regularly buy tickets, you will know your way round the site.
If you did as Charlton advised and checked you were all set to purchase, by adding family & friends etc, you shouldn't have had any problems, provided you read and followed the instructions.
The ticketing site could definitely be improved and isn't as easy to navigate as it could be, but it does the job sufficiently.
There are still historic issues with people having more than one a/c etc.
Personally, if I wanted to go to Wembley (assuming we make it), I would make damn sure that all my details were correct and ensure that I followed the instructions.
If everyone does that there should be few issues (other than technical glitches) and it will be far far easier than having to phone up and be on hold indefinitely.
But even if your details were correct on this occasion, the club did make an error by not linking Valley Gold to people's accounts. They have admitted this error, admitted it was at their end and no fault of any fan trying to buy away tickets. It was only corrected when fans who were making sure their details were correct experienced and/or spotted it and emailed/phoned/tweeted the club to let them know.
And probably worth pointing out this wasn't Valley Gold's error either (Sharron's the last person we should be annoyed at).
By the way, the VG membership linking is essentially a manual process. If your membership is linked to one ticketing account and you go set up a new one, it's probably worth dropping Sharron a line to let her know - she's good, but she's still a trainee with the psychic powers.

With us Pompey and Sunderland in the playoffs, the taking will be massively higher than last year's...

Best home atmosphere I ever experienced. 90 minutes of singing "Heaney Broke Your Nose".....
That game against Ipswich was a special evening. I parked in Makros that night. As I got out of the car I could hear the singing in their car park as clear as if I was in the ground.
Probably the best and most enjoyable game that I have seen in 52 years at the Valley

As I said earlier, Sharron has been a fantastic help amongst this mess. I've only ever had one ticketing account and one VG account, as most have. The club cocked the away tickets up this morning and Sharron fixed it.

In fairness they did only play up there 2 weeks ago, so maybe some people can't be arsed to go all the way up there again so soon. It's not exactly a short trip.

Maybe tempting fate as a possible Wembley visit to come but well done on the tickets as got home Monday morning and just got a away one. But just booked a train and its £91 what do they make them out of gold! And I can't get the return until 4.30! Haven't been on a Charlton coach since a nightmare ride back from Middlesbrough in the Cup game after I'd sworn I wouldn't get on one again after my coach crashed trundling into Nottingham so that wasn't an option I was going to consider.

I had to go out by 9.15 this morning so was on the site sharp. Had bought home tix via my account on mobile with no trouble at all on Sunday but this time it wasn't letting me in. So on the phone to Sharron at VG who tried hard to help but conclusion was that I had a browser issue. No time to log on via another device so left the problem with Mr W. Later got text from him that it was sorted.
Since then I have had a phone message and email from Sharron to check that I got tickets with an apology that the issue was at CAFC end and they only discovered this as more calls and emails came in after mine.
Can't thank Sharron enough for her help and concern.
Whoever runs the away coaches at the club run another coach for Gods sake , you will fill it within a couple of hours
They could of filled another few imo. Loads of people will take a dry journey on a supporters coach for this game.
For an allocation of this size and given the kick-off time the club should be looking to run 8-10 coaches at least. I would estimate £350 profit minimum on a full coach, so there is every opportunity to put resource into it.
Understandably, however, having destroyed the coach operation over the last few years there is no infrastructure or experience to manage or steward that kind of service, and the staff who are there will rightly see the tickets as the priority. Most fans will cope.
God help them if we get to Wembley as we (CASC) ran about 100 in 1998, albeit public transport has improved since then. We ran three from Plumstead Common alone. There will still be big demand from all over Kent and Sussex, however.
Annoyingly I have selected to print my tickets at home, and yet there's no option to print them. I've been into the my tickets, and I can see they have been bought, but there's not printing option available to me.
Any ideas? I've called the club and nobody seems to know!!
Print them from your email confirmation you'll see a print option there.
Did this get resolved I now have the same problem with the print at home two tickets are not printing now

I have to admit, the print at home system works pretty well. And whilst I print ours, we have tried using the pdf via a mobile at the turnstiles and it has worked.
Surprisingly few IT problems considering the numbers involved. I thought the process for season ticket holders for the home game was over complicated, especially for ipad users, but overall the staff have done very well.
I am a bit surprised that so many have opted to phone for tickets. We all know how few staff we have so hardly surprising that there are long waiting times. More surprised that that those electing to buy this way are surprised! It was a good decision not to sell to personal callers as this would have slowed it all down further.
A lot of us (myself being Exhibit A) are Old Gits and not very confident buying online, particularly when excess numbers trying to do the same cause technical problems even for those who are proficient online.
Our age demographic was a major reason Katrien was so contemptuous of us and tried so hard to change the 'customer' demographic.
My tickets (home leg) purchased by phone arrived in the post this morning apparently so all good (until I get the phone bill with the 30 minute wait anyway).
However, for me, phone was the least stressful option.
I am an old git myself and made the basic mistake of charging in and going for it. After failing I watched the video which was so simple to follow I was through in minutes with tickets secured. I would suggest giving it a go if we get to Wembley.
