Official thread for Charlton tickets sold v Donny: SOLD OUT OF ALL THE BLOODY TICKETS.

  • 36 home tickets now left. It is ridiculous that the closed sections are not open yet
  • Very strange that the club has neither put the closed blocks on sale nor said what it is doing with them. Perhaps they can’t get hold of LDT to ask permission? You would want to build on the sales momentum, not choke it off. The costs are trivial.
Not when you add in the expense of sweeping up crisp crumbs.

I think Airman is right in that there is no one prepared to make the decision to start selling the tickets for the end sections of the East and West stands, particularly as Duchatelet's lackey doesn't work on Fridays.
At the very least, someone from the club should explain this current inertia. Get selling people!
  • I’ve given up actually trying to get hold of anyone there to ask where my missing ticket is. Had to bite the bullet and buy another kids one.

Does anyone know what they are doing about tickets purchased now im relation to getting hold of them? I presume it’s pick up at the Keepmoat.
  • Why the club haven't arranged for tickets to be collected from the Valley I'll never know, I fear the majority of the 2000+ fans picking up tickets from Doncaster will be waiting past the kick off time.

Maybe understand it if we were playing Pompey or Sunderland...safety issues etc but for Donny they should go on sale now.....what would be the max that Donny would bring down...maybe 3,000 if they get a good result up there?

    It is.
  • East stand block B opened.

  • on Website now East Stand Block B now open
  • I presume they'll see how quickly they sell and decide whether to open more of the blocks
  • My guess is East Stand Block B is open
  • The club has noticed a trend of families purchasing together and want to give more families the opportunity to attend next week’s game, which is why the decision was made to open the previously-closed East Stand Block B.

Tickets in the block go on sale from 11.30am on Friday, May 10th with fans able to purchase on our ticketing website by clicking here or by calling 03432081496.

  • Is East stand Block B open ?
  • Open up the closed blocks.
It is not in our long term interest to discourage turn up and pay punters (assuming we don’t sell out in advance).

Perhaps the owner doesn’t have our long term interests at heart ?
  • Charlton Athletic supporters who have purchased tickets in the away end will be able to collect from Sunday morning when the tickets have been returned to the Keepmoat Stadium by staff of the visiting club.

Once these tickets have been returned they will be available for collection from the Club Doncaster Academy reception, which is based in the North Stand (away end). There will be no tickets available on the day for Addicks fans.

The above statement from Doncaster is nonsense, how can they be waiting for returned tickets when people have already purchased them.

We must have had the tickets at The Valley, even though they are to be collected at Donny.
If we had them at The Valley, why not have the option to collect at The Valley ?
Presumably, because we have limited staff capacity and no doubt they would also get caught up in queries.
So it's easier to hide away from the public and let Donny do the work.
Although, we may be help dishing them out on Sunday.

Isn't this just standard practice for away matches? Any tickets purchased after the post cut-off are then sent back to the other club for fans to pick up on the day. Plenty of people wouldn't be able to get to The Valley before the weekend in order to pick them up.

I believe it’s pronounced “duh” by the owner.

Presumably the actual physical tickets. Charlton must have been holding them and need to physically return them. Shame it doesn't give opening times for people to spread the load a bit.

It’s a very strange idea not to allow people to collect their tickets from The Valley and rely on the logistics of another club. It will probably be fine, but it creates a risk, raises anxiety among fans and I have no idea why you would do it. Most clubs would want their fans to come to the group in the hope they would visit the shop, etc.

Not normally no, but I suspect the reason is cost. Not a lot but with this lot.

The Doncaster ticket office is open on Saturday but NOT for the collection of away tickets

Notice they're charging £24 in block B.  Why not £21 like in block G?
  • so about 625 in each block. although those blocks all showing as back on the site.

It’s not and the volume of tickets to be collected is exceptional because the match didn’t go on general sale until after the postal cut-off. The club would normally allow collection at The Valley at least until they go off sale.
