Charlton Athletic supporters who have purchased tickets in the away end will be able to collect from Sunday morning when the tickets have been returned to the Keepmoat Stadium by staff of the visiting club.
Once these tickets have been returned they will be available for collection from the Club Doncaster Academy reception, which is based in the North Stand (away end). There will be no tickets available on the day for Addicks fans.
The above statement from Doncaster is nonsense, how can they be waiting for returned tickets when people have already purchased them.
We must have had the tickets at The Valley, even though they are to be collected at Donny. If we had them at The Valley, why not have them collected here ? Presumably, because we have limited staff capacity and no doubt they would also get caught up in queries. So it's easier to hide away from the public and let Donny do the work. Although, we may be help dishing them out on Sunday.
Isn't this just standard practice for away matches? Any tickets purchased after the post cut-off are then sent back to the other club for fans to pick up on the day. Plenty of people wouldn't be able to get to The Valley before the weekend in order to pick them up.
Well yes, but it's not a standard game with about 50 people collecting at a 3pm KO. There will be more than 1100 tickets to be collected at a 12.15 KO.
Personally I think the ticket office should be applauded for all of their hard work over the last five days, and no doubt will continue to do so over the next week. They have been diligent in their work, kept fans upto date with the ticket sales, as well as got out as many tickets as physically possible. Well done ladies and gents.

I think we all agree with that.
It's not the ticket office staff who took the decision to send 1100 tickets to Doncaster for collection at a 12.15 KO.
There could be massive queues, it all depends how many Doncaster staff are serving Charlton fans. Why should Donny overly care?
If I was driving up on the day I'd leave an hour earlier, than I would if I already had my tickets. So leave South London at 7am perhaps.
It's not good customer service, unless Charlton can ensure fans they won't need to queue for more than 5 minutes, because they will be there to help.

Sound advice as always from Covered End, you are playing a blinder in all this, well done sir.
Still condused so the last patch of tickets tickets booked yesterday are for pick up at Doncaster ? i received emailing saying that had been put in post to home address ?
5 windows for collection = 220 tix/window 2 tickets per minute = 110 minutes per window = roughly 2 hours for all tickets to be collected
10 windows at 3 tickets per minute would bring that down to = roughly 40mins for all tickets to be collected
I would imagine it will be closer to the former than the latter
Anybody got any insights into how Donny might organise this? Too much to think they might have the collection points set up to serve different number ranges at different windows? My excitement is sending me into overdrive on all kinds of things

Any away tickets purchased after 4pm Wednesday were to be collected at Donny Sunday morning. I can't explain why your e mail would say different. "Tickets will be posted until Wednesday at 4pm all other tickets will be available to collect at The Valley or at The Away Ground depending which method was selected."

Think if I was in your shoes @stockholmaddick, I'd contact Doncaster to ask about printing duplicates on account of your tickets lost going to sweden

Doncaster Academy Reception doesn't sound like it has 5 windows to me. (It may have but sounds like a reception desk). I think Charlton need to give some assurances. If one person is serving you won't get to see any of the match.
If you had 700 envelopes to be collected at 30 seconds each = 350 minutes ie nearly 6 hours. If 6 people can serve every 30 seconds = 1 hour.

Automated system not set up properly I expect.
Generally the systems put in place by the club have worked very well, which obviously reflects well on the staff. It’s not easy when the club has been run down to such an extent and suddenly has to cope with unexpectedly high demand.
I don’t think that precludes us discussing aspects that are strange, which both the collection regime and the nonsense over the closed blocks are.
The club has noticed a trend of families purchasing together and want to give more families the opportunity to attend next week’s game, which is why the decision was made to open the previously-closed East Stand Block B.
Tickets in the block go on sale from 11.30am on Friday, May 10th with fans able to purchase on our ticketing website by clicking here or by calling 03432081496.

I spoke to the Donny box office early this morning and I was told that the tickets being returned for collection would be either on a supporters coach or the team bus! Now I doubt whether the team will be travelling up Sunday morning so it is possible that the tickets will be available to collect when they open at the 9.00am time I was quoted. Alternatively maybe @Ollywozere or another member of staff is taking them up?
I shall be plotted up within 30 mins of the ground and will phone them early and try and update lifers on the situation.

Lyle and Naby taking their new ticketing responsibilities very seriously!

We're taking the collections up with us and dropping them at the ground when we get there around three hours before kick-off. We're heading up on Saturday afternoon, though, so may see if we can drop them off then so they can be available to pick up asap on Sunday. We have a story going out shortly confirming all the info fans need to know about picking up tickets on the day.
Due to the logistical nightmare of getting there and back, and the potential problem of getting my hands on the actual ticket, I didn't make an impulse buy of one of the last few remaining. Instead, I'll spend what the train fare would have cost on a nice bottle of Champagne to drink whilst I'm watching the game.

Even if the club gets the tickets to Doncaster on Saturday, how many people on the coaches or trains are going to get to the ground much before 11/11:30 to collect their ticket?

Will be carnage
I would have picked yours up for you nice and early but as you never offered two of your batch of tickets.............what goes round comes round
Ultimately its not been helped by SKY having our game on @ 12:15; Charlton and Doncaster are basically making best of a shite situation they've been put into
Why not put the Premier League games on at that time, they can then do the whole trophy / celebration shit afterwards
3pm show the League One Play-Off for the handful of fans who dont want to see that; 6pm show the League Two Play-Off as already planned
Then again I imagine its just as difficult for the Aston Villa v West Brom game which is on Saturday @ 12:15, only difference is the fact that SKY are lucky its a local match
