The club has noticed a trend of families purchasing together and want to give more families the opportunity to attend next week’s game, which is why the decision was made to open the previously-closed East Stand Block B.

Tickets in the block go on sale from 11.30am on Friday, May 10th with fans able to purchase on our ticketing website by clicking here or by calling 03432081496.

    From The OS;

More than 3,700 Charlton fans will pack the away end at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday in the Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final first leg against Doncaster Rovers.

    • Any fans who purchased their away ticket on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and still haven’t received their ticket in Friday's post should call the ticket hotline on 03432081496 to arrange collection from Doncaster’s ticket office on Sunday. The phone line will be open until 9pm on Friday, May 10th and from 9am-9pm on Saturday, May 11th.
    • Fans who purchased their away ticket on Thursday or Friday will be able to collect their tickets at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster from 9am on Sunday. Away collections will be from the Club Doncaster Academy Reception which is located next to the away turnstiles.
    • Fans are advised to bring a form of identification with them to collect their tickets.
    • Given the large amount of away tickets for collection, fans are advised to get there early to allow plenty of time to collect their tickets.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME ID ON YOU!
If they're allowing collection from 11.30, you'd hope they have everything in hand (alphabetical order etc).  I'm sure they will, but I'd hate for that sort of thing to have an impact on people getting in etc
Ideally those making their own way there will arrive before 11.00 to make it easier for when the train and coach travellers bowl up. There's a retail park and pub nearby for those who haven't been before where you can get eats and drinks.
    Thanks Covered End...👍...oh hang on...😜
I didn't mention the pub because I'll be in there & didn't want all the riff raff clogging up the bar -
    No.
    You mentioned the cabs though
Well you read it first so you must have booked yours ?

Charlton Athletic supporters who have purchased tickets in the away end will be able to collect from Sunday morning when the tickets have been returned to the Keepmoat Stadium by staff of the visiting club.

Once these tickets have been returned they will be available for collection from the Club Doncaster Academy reception, which is based in the North Stand (away end). There will be no tickets available on the day for Addicks fans.

    https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/2019/may/box-office-opens-saturday/

The above statement from Doncaster is nonsense, how can they be waiting for returned tickets when people have already purchased them.

We must have had the tickets at The Valley, even though they are to be collected at Donny.
If we had them at The Valley, why not have them collected here ?
Presumably, because we have limited staff capacity and no doubt they would also get caught up in queries.
So it's easier to hide away from the public and let Donny do the work.
Although, we may be help dishing them out on Sunday.
Isn't this just standard practice for away matches? Any tickets purchased after the post cut-off are then sent back to the other club for fans to pick up on the day. Plenty of people wouldn't be able to get to The Valley before the weekend in order to pick them up.
Well yes, but it's not a standard game with about 50 people collecting at a 3pm KO.
There will be more than 1100 tickets to be collected at a 12.15 KO.
IF the ticket office opens at 9 we are looking at 400 every hour, I can see lots of irate punters being delayed.

I cannot see tickets will be in an envelope and leave in 10 seconds.  You'll probably have to give a reference number then wait for the tickets to be printed.  Very time consuming.

Even if the club gets the tickets to Doncaster on Saturday, how many people on the coaches or trains are going to get to the ground much before 11/11:30 to collect their ticket?
    Will be carnage
The game could be finished by the time the last fans get their tickets.

I thought I read somewhere above the CAFC staff were working until 9pm tonight getting the tickets ready for collection? I would assume they will be printed, enveloped and have a name on the front ready for shipping up to Donny.

They’re being taken up by the club and then handed out. So they are printed and I imagine are in named envelopes...

What printing? Try and keep up. Charlton are physically taken the tickets that have been sold and not sent out to the stadium.

400 every hour would have to be divided by the number of windows, so maybe 100 an hour. It will be tight as loads will be on the 11am train. Hopefully those arriving by coach and car will have got theirs by then and will be tucking into a spot of lunch with a cold one.

What will cock it up are punters rocking up without a copy of the email and ID. (Plse note Cambridge).

The biggest problem is going to be those who are going to stop at a pub or two on the way, arrive just after noon and find a long line of fans; and then moan.

And moan they’d be entitled to. Doncaster should have a “ticket buddy” for each person, holding up a placard with the purchaser’s name, arranged in a long line in alphabetical order so each and every Addick can turn up with ten minutes to go, get their ticket immediately and be shown to their seat.

I'll start wetting my knickers the day we take 3000 to Yorkshire for a normal league game

Yes, that would something. Especially when I remember Middlesbrough away in 84/85 I counted 27 of us on the terrace! (and it wasn't even a midweek game!)
Was that the year when the police did the refreshments?

No...it was the year Aizlewood got sent off, Ronnie Moore gave away a pen (he was playing centre-back by then) and we lost 1-0.

Season started brilliantly, we won 3-0 at Cardiff (Hales 3) and we went on a decent run. Hales broke the all-time goal record when he scored a diving header at home to Huddersfield but by about March he just disappeared to Gillingham.

The police refreshments out the back of their van, was the following promotion season when we won 3-1 (Mark Stuart with a great solo goal).

I would have been there, but they all blur into one after a while. The worst away turnout I remember was the Saturday morning game at Notts County, which was about 60.

How about Luton away when we became Luton members of their scheme when away fans were banned? I remember bumping into you and a few others but I doubt there were more than 60.

I also recall being at the Boleyn Ground before segregation, there was no more than 50 of us in the first half and far less in the second after beatings under the stand.
  • It will be interesting to see if there are any tickets left for sale at the ticket office on Wed - Fri.
Unless they've held some back, which might explain the @1,000 discrepancy throughout the sales process.

Surprised they are releasing the closed West Stand blocks last as visually these are the ones that will be shown by the cameras the most. If you wanted to showcase a large crowd, not sure you want empty blocks opposite the main cameras
Wouldn't worry about it too much, unless we get smashed 4-0 on Sunday it looks like being a home area sell out.

I don't know how well they will handle it, but in theory there is a transaction number attached to the tickets so it could be done pretty quickly. I'd have all the tickets that haven;t been sent loose, say transaction xxxxxx is two tickets, check number and give out two tickets. That would be quite fast.

I spoke to the Donny box office early this morning and I was told that the tickets being returned for collection would be either on a supporters coach or the team bus! Now I doubt whether the team will be travelling up Sunday morning so it is possible that the tickets will be available to collect when they open at the 9.00am time I was quoted. Alternatively maybe @Ollywozere or another member of staff is taking them up?

I shall be plotted up within 30 mins of the ground and will phone them early and try and update lifers on the situation.
We're taking the collections up with us and dropping them at the ground when we get there around three hours before kick-off. We're heading up on Saturday afternoon, though, so may see if we can drop them off then so they can be available to pick up asap on Sunday.
We have a story going out shortly confirming all the info fans need to know about picking up tickets on the day.
Following on from when I was a little boy's comment about the staff in the ticket office doing such a good job, I would also like to add my thanks to your comms team Olly.  I think the club have done well communicating the score to the fans over the last week and upholding the buzz ahead of the game.  Good effort all round

    I'll second that.

Irrespective of the nutjob of an owner and lack of a SMT, the staff at the sharp end are what's holding things together. Let's never forget that.

They deserve a bonus. Roly. Roly? Roly, you listening Roly?
