Thanks mate. Just over 25k home support is borderline disgrace from Sunderland, even if they did expect top 2 and are having an almighty strop.
  • Sunderland 26,610 tonight lowest of the season.
    Weird

Not only is it their lowest but it’s their lowest by nearly 5000 . It’s the play offs !! Darren Bent did say that their fans were very fickle when he played there but this is really poor. More importantly both teams looked worse than average .
  • I have a Valley away coach ticket pick up at Eltham at 06.35hr.
Now going in a friend's car so it's available
    at face value of £27.
In my name of course. Collect.from Sidcup.

Probably 48 hours to late to be of use, but you never know.
    Are you paying me £27

Read on Twitter that’s there’s unhappiness about season ticket prices next season, especially as few Sunderland fans expect Championship football

I thought someone said their season ticket prices were frozen ?
  • Sunderland is a one horse town, as is portsmouth
  • The population of Greenwich is comparable , never mind the 8million more Londoners with a dozen or so other teams to chose from and that’s before we look at Kent

    My job here is done.
    Superb

I think part of the explanation for that will be that official EFL attendances in general are increasingly fanciful - not just at Charlton. The figures for “all pay” games are much more accurate - hence the official crowds are smaller than expected.

Makes our ticket sales for Friday even more impressive, of course.

Airman why do you think we have a near sell out in the home ends next week.

That’s poor. Do you know how many of that is  Portsmouth?
Didn’t they have about 48k for the league game just two weeks ago?

That’s not too bad considering it’s a 660 mile , 11 hour,  round trip and the kick off time is ridiculous. I say well done the 1300 who travelled .
Yep well done. Beds, I'm convinced we would have taken double that tonight.

I'm stunned the lack of interest from both sides.

1 seat left in block B
Sounds like the opening line of a song:

One seat left in block B,
    Block B at The Valley,
    Ten seats
    Nine seats
    Eight seats
    Seven seats
    Six seats
    Five seats
    Four seats
    Three seats
    Two seats
One seat still to sell in block B at The Valley

(To the tune of nine goals went past Perry).

As we have housed away fans in the West stand before, Bournmouth spring to kind, if Donny sales are low, stick them in there and give us the Jimmy Seed then we would see an atmosphere.
That has made me think.  What was the game we let home fans use the jimmy seed since we returned.  I’m gonna go for up until the Southend game in 94 when they opened the east stand....could be wrong, but reckon it was whoever we played before that.  I remember sitting in there a couple of times when we returned to the valley.  Definitely against Pompey in 93 when we lost on tv 1-0, almost a year after returning, and again possibly against Peterborough in the latter half of the 92/93 season, April time maybe.  I think one other time against Watford that same season but it’s pushing the limits of my memory as I was around 10 at the time

I’m sure there would’ve been a few on here who sat in there as well
Sat in there against West Brom in 1994.

We may have but I doubt it . Don’t forget Pompey have 200 miles more to travel ( round trip ) than us . I think it would have been close to the same amount .

Would've had a tough time of it considering Sunderland were only giving 2k to whichever team they faced.

Also no trains home after the game and no hotels anywhere nearby because of the rugby and the well documented (on here anyway) Sunderland half marathon.

We would've been given more if we wanted them. Sunderland only gave Portsmouth 2k (the minimum league rules would let them give) as 'punishment' for their behaviour and setting off smoke bombs in the league game.

It's almost as if they know who's going up.
