In all my years of supporting Charlton the one thing we never seem to have done is a proper full scale pitch invasion. I'd resigned myself to thinking we just didn't have it in us ...... until last night.
As I said, the scenes were amazing, but a full invasion feels like something that should only happen if we either win a trophy or secure promotion. This felt to me a bit premature!

Mate we've been a joyless club for years. Last night's celebrations were well warranted regardless of what unfolds next Sunday.
Well in my top 5 moments of supporting this nutty club.
Was clear during extra time that an invasion would take place as the stewards in the covered end were letting fans spill through the gates onto the exit steps whereas previously they've always been very strict on keeping people back. Gutted that when we finally get an invasion I was stuck in the very back row of the West Upper! Great scenes though

Was brilliant and thankfully only a handful went to taunt the away fans, which is spanner behaviour.
Agreed, and the prats just behind the away dugout who threw 2 bottles on separate occasions at the away bench were a disgrace. One narrowly missed the reserve GK’s head and he was incensed. McCann told the 4th official so that will be going in a report. Pathetic Millwall behaviour.

More than two bottles mate. I think it was further back as I was two rows back from dugout. Absolute idiots whoever it was
In my 61 years of supporting The Addicks I have NEVER witnessed such a glorious pitch invasion. The numbers were incredible and a pure unadulterated theatrical celebration the likes of which our beloved Valley has never before seen. From my seat in The West Upper it unfolded in front of me in all its glory never to be forgotten, it was epic!
Loved their goalie getting loads of stick to his face. Fuck em, they had plenty to say to the crowd during the game. Have some of it back. Great scenes.

One bloke was taking a selfie with him, felt a bit bad for him but like you say they gave plenty to the fans when they got the 2nd goal at the end.

Sorry but don't like that, keep it classy when you win
Always feel sorry for the away team in situations like this, so close to Wembley and they don't get the chance to say goodbye to their fans properly, as they deserved their applause
I thought it was a tad early/dangerous with the players on there, but nice it was directed at our home end and not the directors box - pitch and stands singing/dancing in unison was moving.

We’ve been nice for god knows how long. Enjoy the moment and bollocks to anyone else. Butler and his northern pals deserved it. They can say goodbye on the radio, they’ve had enough to say all week

I would normally completely agree with that, but I think this one felt more cathartic with us having a packed Valley for the first time in years, and getting to Wembley for the first time in forever despite the shadow of Roland looming over us. I think this pitch invasion was about a lot more than winning a penalty shoot out so it troubled me less than it otherwise would.

I was in the West Stand for the Preston game and thought that the celebrations were comparable. Perhaps that's the impression of having been a youth at the time.

I mentioned to butler about his interview. He did not seem to pleased

Identify them all and only let them have tickets after I've got mine.
Cant remember the last time I celebrated like that, especially given what a miserable pessimistic fecker I’d been throughout extra time.
