I couldn’t mark the players after Friday’s semi, and I feel I can’t preview the final. Rubbish really. I just hope they can perform on the day as well as they have been over the last seven or eight matches of the season. So much at stake.
I've absolutely no idea how it's going to go and i cant predict a score but I've backed Sunderland at evens ( £100) to go up , not because i necessarily think they will but because i can't lose. They win i'm up a hundred quid and if we win happy days!

I had a Friday semi till about Wednesday after we won that game

Had such a bizarre dream last night that we won 4-0. A Fosu hatrick in the first 5 mins and a Maxwell header in added time - call me negative but I don't think that is what will happen!
Was it a comfortable 4-0 win? Was @Happy Valley in the dream?
We don’t do televised games! We don’t handle big games well! We don’t manage games well! We can’t take the pressure! We will play the better football and be the better team. We will lose 3-1 after taking an early lead. I really hope not but it’s what I fear...

The funny thing about football is that sometimes, actually
quite often, you can know something is going to happen. You can feel it. There
is a saying after something significant has happened in a game that “our name
is on the cup”. Why that should be when there are other hurdles to overcome, I don’t
know. But it is so often proven right.
Whilst there is a trophy for Sunday’s game, this is not the
cup, I know. But If you take the passage of events on the pitch on Friday
between Marquis scoring the goal that could very well have put us out, and probably
should have, and Rowe missing that vital last penalty of the shoot-out, you
sort of got that feeling that things are aligning.
When the game went to extra time, if you searched inside my
heart of hearts, I thought we were going to lose it. Now, probably because of
Friday’s events, I think we are going to win it. I did a deal with myself that
I was going to enjoy this time, as deep down I also know we can be brought down
to earth with a thud. Imagine winning and losing the people who got us there
through the idiot that is in charge of us. No, I refuse to think about that, I
am going to enjoy Sunday and what happens next, happens next.
What I am pleased about, is I don’t have to tell youngsters
what the Valley can be when it is rocking. I know we have had good atmospheres
periodically, like when we won the league, which was great. But there is a
magic about the place when everything aligns like Friday night. Now you youngsters have seen it
and been part of it. We can get it back if we all fight for it together. I refuse to believe that Friday was the Valley's last great night!
But first there is a matter of Bowyer and the lads writing
their place in Charlton history. COYRs.
In a cup final, generally only the glory of the trophy itself is at stake. Should we win on Sunday, we can look forward to better quality teams playing at The Valley every fortnight. Should we lose, my neighbour is threatening to hang himself from the rafters of the Covered End when MK Dons come to town.
Don't play 3 at the back with 2 holding midfielders in front, this will be far too negative.
I would rather we set up the most attacking possible and go for it, don't let them play pressure from the front which Doncaster did to us.
Phillips
Djksteel Bauer Sarr Purrington
Cullen Bielik Aribo
Williams
Taylor Igor
Not sure if too attacking? but on paper this side would do the business, my only worry is having 2 defensive midfielders, but Cullen gets all over the pitch so hopefully he can roam/fill in, Aribo on the left side of a 3 but pushing/driving forward.
Front 3 players give no time to their defence they will crumble, their midfield is aging too so lets boss the midfield and we can win.

This is absolutely the right team. I think BR7 addick put it best in an earlier post - No League One team beats that team!

You know the mood is high on CL when myself and Muttley are in agreement, come on you reddsssss!!!

Correct, and we played shit in the 2nd leg and lost at home 2-3

I will agree with you when you are right Seriously, that team (with slight changes that don't affect its nature - Solly played RB against Luton) has not been beaten in League One, it has not been close to being beaten either. I wonder why - playing with pace, not just physical pace, but speed of thought and pace of passing. Watching us when we set up like that, it is like watching how the top teams play.
Also, Sunderland will have watched us in the semi finals and I don't believe will be expecting it.

Mutts, I don't usually get choked up on here, coked up maybe... but that was good!
I’ve got a horrible feeling about Sunday. Perhaps I’m preparing for the worse?
On paper both teams look pretty even. Perhaps they are missing the out and out goal scorer that we have in Taylor but they must be making it up from somewhere as they scored more goal scorer then us this season. I hope Bowyer reverts to the 4-4-2 diamond. Sunderland tend to play 4-2-3-1 and if we have our strongest midfield out if think we can win the midfield battle. Games like this are usually decided by teams top players turning up. Super Clive done it 21 years ago let’s hope one of our boys can do the same.

I have no idea who will be in the team or who will win, I'm nervous and excited, expect we'll loose and hope we win.
FA - thanks for the great write ups, enjoyed them all season, here's to the Championship come August

Bowyer, Jacko and Gallen have done a great job in bringing some pride back to Charlton.
If we go down, I hope we go down swinging! I am nervous already but we can really do this.
Charlton 1- 0 (Taylor)
Should have read the whole thing though when it said about "tonights game"
