It may be, but the Cardiff bloke has clearly put in an offer which contradicts him being committed to them. So how do we get the mad old scroat to accept the offer?

But Bowyer has exclusively confirmed to the South London Press that things do seem to be moving in the right direction.

“All I wanted was to be treated fairly,” he said. “And now we have started negotiating.

“Hopefully we can come to an agreement.”

    More to follow.

Just for once why can't RD just accept he's made an error in judgement over Bowyer's contract, give Bowyer what he wants and just admit he's had to offer a more generous contract than he would have liked and this is a lesson learned. You know I could almost give RD a nod of the head if he did this but I just don't think his ego would even dream of something like this.

What a total farce though that he’s  pissing about offering a contract to the most important person at the club, who has totally delivered and can take us forward.

    I absolute detest RD.

So. At the moment we remain in the situation where Bowyer is out of contract at the end of the month.
In this context the word hopeful is as useful as the word 'should'.
I am hopeful that I win the lottery, and can move things in the right direction by buying a ticket.
    Should work.

I wonder if Roland is equally reticent & parsimonious when negotating employment terms with Rudi De Winter & Francoise Chombar, his husband & wife management team at Melexis?

    No, I thought not.

Yet at present Lee Bowyer is as important to the future of CAFC as RDW & FC are to the future of Melexis - possibly more so if Roland doesn't extract his digit over the sale of the club.

There is no reason for Duchatelet not to offer an improved contract other than envy.

If the club was sold the new owner honours the contract or pays up the contract if he wants to bring his own man in.

A win win situation for Bowyer if he can get his and the Helmet's signature on an improved contract.

June 7 was the deadline for extending his deal. LB allowed a week's extension to that.
    That's from Richard Cawley.

RD is probably demanding that LB buys CAFC before he offers him a new contract.

Right but if, miraculously, Bowyer is offered his dream deal by Charlton on the 15th, 16th or 17th and hasn’t been offered better elsewhere do you think he’ll turn it down due to some arbitrary deadline?

Definitely not, i think he genuinely want's to stay at Charlton but feels he's getting messed about, by the sounds of things he just wants to get on with managing us with his staff.
