Exciting end but why did England win? Both scored 15 runs so why did England win?

Serious question from a not very serious cricket watcher.
We got a lot more boundaries than they did

England scored the most boundaries through their 51 overs. Kind of like a goal difference way to decide it

Well done New Zealand you played extremely well it can be argued you deserved to win as you lost less wicket. But bloody hell what a game of cricket
I don’t get that either. Match tied surely team who lost less wickets wins?
  • I love New Zealand as a country and a team.

The last team you would want to do that to.

    BUT....... WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

The first international cricket match was 175 years ago. I would hazard a guess that the 2019 World Cup Final will still be talked about in 175 years time.

    Just a game eh?

Feel sick for the Kiwis as they looked so good bowling.

The way New Zealand have lost though certainly feels worse than any penalty shootout in Footballl

Surely wickets should come ahead of boundaries

England had the luck of the Irish with the overthrow ball hitting the bat and going for 6 runs.

Well we did only draw with Chelsea in the League Cup that year too...

Chelsea should have gone through to the next round as well as us

I think the game finished tied, the super over was tied, so the game was tied therefore you have to play by the agreed rules which stated boundaries not wickets count, I suppose it could be said that England might have played differently if wickets counted rather than boundaries, mind you I not absolutely certain if the super over was tied or not, as I celebrating to much.

My neighbours obviously get their tv signal a few seconds before us. I wondered what all the shouting was!
