if we weren't so shit i'd be doing my pieces with how close the scum are to promotion
They might be jammy, but when you consider who else will be in the playoffs, Forest and probably Fulham and West Brom/Brentford, it would be extraordinary for them to win them
don't put it past them .... they got to the fa cup final without having to face a football team
- we beat Birmingham, - Shef Weds lose to Fulham - Luton or Hull win (ie it is not a draw) - Barnsley fail to beat either Leeds or Forest in their next two

You just know Brentford will get 2nd, then Millwall will shithouse their way past a demoralised West brom and get to Wembley.
Wigan wouldnow be safe without the 12 point deduction. They should deduct it now, so the tables show a true reflection.
If they end up safe with the theoretical deduction, the deduction is applied next season.
Surely not? - I thought that only counted if Wigan went down without the deduction
Maybe I read the ruling wrong but I thought it wasn’t applied until next season if it didn’t affect the outcome (ie safety or relegation) of this season.
If they are relegated, (which on the points they are on, will not happen), point deduction next season, if not point deduction this season
That doesn't seem fair - if the 12 point deduction is applied this season and they stay up then where's the punishment?
It's not much different to starting the season on -12 points. If you manage to achieve enough to stay up despite the deduction then well done. I guess it could be argued that psychologically it's tougher in Bolton's position than Wigan's given the momentum they have right now, but either way it's the same punishment.

Then we are safe before the trip to Leeds.
All except our game seem highly likely to me.
What do we have to do against Wigan, or does that game not matter either?

To think Millwall could be promoted to the Premier League having won just 17 out of 46 matches. And we could be relegated to League 1 having won 4 less games than them.
Horrible, horrible thought! So glad Cardiff held on tonight. Be very nice if Harris is the one who edged them out of the play-offs

You just know Brentford will get 2nd, then Millwall will shithouse their way past a demoralised West brom and get to Wembley.
And their fans will fight each other on the streets of Bermondsey, as they can't be at Wembley, while their team gets pulverised by whichever team is in opposition in the final.

If Millwall play Fulham in the final, you just know that the presence of Scott Parker will Charltonize Fulham...

I would quite like to see them in the Premier League. They will be vying Derby for the worst points total in PL history. Just look at Norwich this season, and they have Pukki who scored 20-odd goals for them last season.

I fear they would be more Burnley or Sheffield Utd. The other prem clubs won’t like it up em

In my scenario above then neither Wigan or Leeds would matter as long as our GD was not absolutely destroyed, and even then we would likely stay up.

The punishment is a 12 point deduction.
It's not a 'however many points it needs to relegate a team' deduction.
But if they legitimately stay up and then are deducted 12 points it’s hardly a punishment. If they finish in the bottom three and then go down and are deducted 12 points at the start of next season then that is a huge punishment. It’s ridiculous really. If the punishment is 12 points it should be applied immediately irrespective of league position.

I know they've appealed but i'm sure internally at the club, Paul Cook and his players have already accepted they have the deduction and need to finish 12 points clear of the bottom 3.
Now they can't mathematically finish in the bottom 3 before the deduction, some league tables i've seen have already applied the -12.
To think Millwall could be promoted to the Premier League having won just 17 out of 46 matches. And we could be relegated to League 1 having won 4 less games than them.
Or, think about it another way. We've lost 10 fewer games than you, conceded 12 fewer goals and only lost more games than 3 other teams in the division.
We're not going up, so no need to worry yourself too much
IF we beat Birmingham and Luton-Hull draw then I think we can consider ourselves safe on 49pts with Luton, Hull and Barnsley all but guaranteed to finish below us.
Barnsley would need 7 points from Leeds/Nottm/Brentford to finish above us (6 points and they'd draw level but with woeful GD) Hull and Luton could then only equal our 49 but again with appalling GD
What this also means is that we don't have to rely on points deductions going our way.
Plenty of twists and turns left in this campaign but with any points return at Wigan or Leeds looking a tall order, those two results alone could be enough.
Luton are still a danger. They could win their last two - Hull and Blackburn.
If we beat Wigan we will finish above them.
To be honest, Blackburn weren't all that yesterday. Hugely reliant on Dack (injured) and Armstrong (pace) so could quite easily see Luton beating them.

That does rely on Luton and Hull drawing, which would seem unlikely unless Hull massively improve!
Just had another work out and I've got us, Wigan and Huddersfield all on 49pts. Only Barnsley and Hull below. Huddersfield would drop on GD unless we get thumped by Leeds/Wigan.

I remember the Man U v Arse 8-2 Arsenal responded well by beating Swansea 2-1* (back when they were mid table every season). They then lost 4-3 to Blackburn before spanking Blackburn in the return fixture 7-1.
*credit to wikipedia, I couldn't remember the detail of the rest of their season, just that they won their next game.

Sue Parkes was allowed to go to the Hull game but for some reason the Hull back four and Goalkeeper werent allowed at the game tonight?
