  • With one of Luton and Hull winning, unless the Wigan deduction is overturned, if they lose at Cardiff it doesn't matter how we do (as long as Barnsley don't win tomorrow)

It’s Wednesdays 12 point deduction that will save us

Hull first team relegated. (On goal difference)

    Edit
Just checked table again. That is wrong.
  • Hull first team relegated.
No they're not... They're only three behind Luton

No it wont... It'll be Luton and Wigan not doing a job themselves

We'll finish above both of them
  • Oohaaah will be pleased .... Millwall confirmed miss out on playoffs

Clinton Morrison is a crap pundit.

    4-4 Millwall!

    EDIT: disallowed. 4-3.
  • Hull can’t catch us now.

It’s three horse race providing Barnsley don’t upset Forest and Brentford.

Two simple scenarios left, only one needs to happen.

    - If Wigan fail to win against Fulham, we stay up.

    - If Luton fail (against Blackburn) to better our result against Leeds, we stay up.

Well done the Hull owners for selling Bowen and Grosicki

  • At least the nightmare scenario of us being TWO divisions behind Millwall (and Palace) can't happen now!
  • Hull first team relegated.
No they're not... They're only three behind Luton
As it stands, Hull can't now get out of the bottom 3 unless we lose and they win at Cardiff while making up 16 goal GD on us.

Then, figuratively, Wigan are on 46 games if their points deduction holds.

And Sheff Weds, perhaps on 44 points if they get 12 point deduction. Come on EFL, do the right thing.

Eh? - If Luton and Wigan both lose, and Hull win then they'll go to 21st as their GD is better than Luton's

Agreed... Its virtually impossible for us to finish any lower than 22nd now

If Hull win, Luton lose and Wigan fail to win, the Tigers can still climb out of it.
  • Of course: Charlton - Draw | Luton - Win | Wigan - Win would send us down, we'd be level with Wigan but their Goal Difference would keep them up over us

    Not an awful scenario

Equal or better Luton's or Wigan's results

    Or Hope Wigan lose
  • If Wednesday are to be docked anything big time then it surely happens on Monday or not at all this season.

They won't do a deduction after Wednesdays game's unless it's some shitty 6 point deduction where it makes no difference.

I think we need to look elsewhere for Wigan to lose or draw with Fulham and/or Luton lose to Blackburn or maybe just a simple win for us at Leeds.... That though would be a very large walk on water miracle!

I'm actually worried about the team that we put out next as Pearce looks crocked... Doughy was out on his feet and Cullen was definitely in a bit of pain..hope I'm wrong but..

  • I feel quietly confident that we can get a draw at Leeds. Yes Leeds will want to do a professional job etc, but the extra 10% of drive when you know you HAVE to win makes a lot of difference as Liverpool have shown.

If Wigan can beat Fulham and Luton beat Blackburn they'll deserve to stay up, but I'd be really surprised.

I suspect though that there will be some nervous moments before Wednesday evening is up  :#
It’s gonna last an eternity ... but I remain positive as I have done all season

    There's a third scenario.

Sheffield Wednesday get a 12 point deduction and everyone is happy.

We can play Naby up front on Wednesday and give the kids a run out.
    Leeds 0 Charlton 5 (Sarr 12, 45, 78; Page 6; Phillips 89)
  • Imagine the players that stick around get much of a break either @ Charlton

I still remember the 98/99 season which went to the final day with us needing Southampton to lose (so the reverse to the position we're currently in)

If we can stay up this season it'll go some way to banishing those memories, be even sweeter if Sheffield Wednesday get punished as a result this time round
  • I hadn't realised Wednesday are only 8 ahead of us and 2 points behind Wigan, so a 12 point deduction could save Wigan as well which would be a perfect scenario really
Yup, I’d like that one too.
  • Even if Wednesday get a points deduction, there's always a chance of it being reduced or overturned so you'd still want it to be a scenario of Wigan or Luton depending on their deduction and not us
  • Hull, Sheff Weds and Barnsley to go down I reckon.
