Do we want Luton to win? They're further behind them Barnsley but have a better run in. Could be a moot point if we get anything out of the Brentford game of course, but do we want teams cut adrift at the bottom or do we want them to all keep nicking points off eachother?

Draw probably best but Luton will is ok too

Draw the perfect result. No benefit in one of them winning and getting a confidence boost, especially Luton who have the easier fixtures of the 2

Need Millwall to beat Boro tomorrow and Brizzle to get a caretaker manager bounce to beat Hull.

Then we need Leeds to have their shooting boots on, on Thursday when they play Stoke

    Okay theory time...

If Wigan lose to QPR tomorrow, and Luton lose away at Huddersfield on Friday the bottom 3 before we kick off against Reading will be:

    Barnsley 42 points
    Luton 41 points
Wigan 38 points (including their points deduction)

Barnsley then play Wigan at 3pm on Saturday.

If we beat Reading at 12.30pm on Saturday, we go 7 clear of Barnsley, 8 clear of Luton (3 games to go), and 11 clear of Wigan.

We would want Wigan to beat Barnsley meaning we are 7 clear of the bottom 3 with 3 games to go.

    Barnsley’s remaining games are:
    Wigan (H)
    Leeds (A)
    Forest (H)
    Brentford (A)

If Barnsley lose to Wigan, I believe that would be them gone, you’d be asking too much for them to win their final 3 games, especially what they are.

    Luton’s remaining games are:
    Huddersfield (A)
    QPR (H)
    Hull (A)
    Blackburn (H)

If Huddersfield beat Luton on Friday, Luton would need to win all of their last 3 games to give themselves a chance of safety. On paper their fixtures mean they could do it, but winning 3 games in a row in this league, when you’re in their position just is not likely to happen.

    Wigan’s remaining games are:
    QPR (H)
    Barnsley (A)
    Hull (H)
    Charlton (A)
    Fulham (H)

Next four for them are absolutely massive. But again, if they lose to QPR tomorrow evening, with the points deduction they’d have 38 points with 4 to go, they’d have to win all 4 remaining games.

This Reading game on Saturday won’t define our season, but it could well just be the biggest game we have left this season if results go our way.

3 points is a must on Saturday and I genuinely believe, if we get them, we’ll stay up.

Such a shame we couldn’t have held on for a point tonight, as that would very likely mean one more win would’ve been enough for survival.

Got to take heart from it though, being disappointed tonight actually puts us in a good position going forward.

At least its in our own hands..
A few weeks ago we were on the verge of a ppg relegation!
  • Same ending, zero points, but I was a lot more gutted when we lost to Millwall, note to self, should be used to it by now.

I know we don’t care where the points come from, but I would really like to pickup 4 points in the next 2 games, dont care whether it’s a win and a draw or a draw and a win, I just think if we don’t have 4 points after the next 2 games whether the pressure will tell against Wigan, still very much hoping we’re going to be ok.....

I think it's because they hardly show any live Barnsley games!

Sky seem to be picking all the matches involving the top teams so that they can be there when promotion is achieved! For some reason they didn't go for Brum vs Charlton...

West Brom vs Fulham on the Tuesday
Brentford vs Preston on the Wednesday
Leeds vs Barnsley on the Thursday

Blackburn win 3-2 at Cardiff, throwing the 6th spot open again

The Leeds v Barnsley game was always going to be moved to Thursday on Sky.

Leeds play away at Swansea on the Sunday so no way would they have only had Monday as rest before playing at home to Barnsley on the Tuesday which was the original day.

This fixture only got announced today due to Sky announcing their fixtures bit by bit.

Will Millwall step up and help us out at the same time?

They have to beat Wigan to be in with any chance of survival

Bad news in that it gives a glimmer of hope to Millwall but good news in that it means 6th spot is still open and sides still have something to play for. The more sides not on the beach and still trying to win games the better.

Millwall need to beat Middlesbrough and Swansea need to beat Birmingham tonight now.

I see Millwall are playing Boro at 3pm tomorrow, what a strange time to play the game, even with many people still furloughed
It's been done so that when Boro beat us it will not only spoil your evening, but some of your afternoon too. It may even put you off of your dinner.

    Sorry.

very strange to be kicking off at 3pm on a Thursday, can only assume it's to assist Boro with the travelling home after or something ?

Yes, it’s because Boro played on Sunday at home, have to travel down to London to play today at 3pm, and back up to Boro again to play at home on Saturday.

It means they’ll get back tonight rather than early hours tomorrow or having to stay in a hotel again.

Good news for the Millwall fans on day release from prison, as they have to be back in their cells by 6pm, and can now see their boys play

     ;)

I'm one of the fortunate ones as I'm in a Cat D open prison, hence the ability to post online. Graduated from the Cat C and now enjoy more freedoms.

    Loving life right now.
