Think about it this way: which of these two sides are we playing next?
  • My god, if we can't get a result on Wednesday against this shite then as Gary says we don't deserve to stay up.

Still in our own hands 3 or 4 points preferably from the next two games. It's not over until it is over.
  • Also I still harbour hopes of Birmingham going down

Looks a lot worse than it did after the draw at Cardiff but...............look at it this way, we were adrift of 4th bottom heading into the restart. If the season had ended (like leagues 1 & 2) we were gone, but at least now it's in our own hands.

The moment we dropped into the relegation zone there were endless opinions that our season was done, that we wouldnt get out of trouble and wouldn't win another game

Dont expect blind optimism but would be nice for people to at least try and have a bit of faith in the team they apparently support else why bother?

Its a piece of piss backing your club when they're winning and the players are the best thing since sliced bread when they're winning Play-Offs so if people can back them then, back them now!!
  • Just can’t see us scoring

We've got to score eventually and legitimately this season though havent we

    No bad run lasts forever

  • Birmingham look awful, they probably think they’re safe but we beat them Wednesday and we’ll go above them.

We know what we have to fight for, our players will be right up for it knowing the import of the game. Beat Birmingham and see what the table looks like afterwards, we would then be able to work it out.

Depending on results on Tuesday, by Wednesday evening if we win, Barnsley and Wigan could be relegated this time next week.

Even if we lose to Birmingham we STILL have the Wigan game. Set up to dominate, set up to win. Put our forward-thinking players on the pitch. I won't hold back on Bowyer if we go down, given our fully-fit squad
Won't hold back in what way?

Do You think our fully fit squad which:

    A) cost nothing to put together;
    B) has one of, If not the lowest wage bill in the division
    C) the shenanigans of ownership,
    D) had the best three attacking players being removed from it since the start of the season
    E) was decamated by injuries meaning we were in the relegation spots when the season re-started

Should be staying up without the work of miracles and snookers.
Bowyer has made terrible selection/substitution decisions in three consecutive games (as has been widely acknowledged). We've gone from a position of strength to one of extreme danger, and we still have two games where we can realistically save ourselves. Rather than all that stuff about wage bills and shenanigans, look at the players we have available and ask yourself whether they've been particularly well-deployed of late?

Maybe not from open play. We need to win more corners and free kicks in decent areas, bring Pearce etc up and score that way.

I think back to that glorious day at Wembley, Williams changed the game for us in that second half, Sunderland didn’t know what to do but hack him down every time. We kept winning free kicks and it wore Sunderland down.

Doughty and Williams are key players right now.

At least we’re in a good position needing 1 win to be safe (possibly). The likes of Luton Barnsley Hull and even Wigan need to win every game still.
  • 3 goals in 6 games, lost the last 3. Can't blame people for not being overly optimistic. I'm sure they will be supporting the team as much as anyone come Wednesday.

Admittedly it matters very little now, but we were 15 minutes away from winning at Brentford last week.

We're in every game, rarely are we badly beaten. We should absolutely be looking to go and attack Birmingham given their current poor run and low morale.

    1-0 may well be enough.
  • The only miracle I want to see is us beat Birmingham.

We still amazingly have it in our own hands and irrespective of the results today and on Tuesday we need 50 points to be safe unless every team hits self destruct which I doubt.

I hope Lee gets the team psyched up on Wednesday to smash Birmingham but I'll take an ugly one nil win.

  • 25 of our 47 league goals (53%) have come from players still available to us. Those goals are spread across all areas of the pitch. Bowyer and JJ need them relaxed and practising shooting drills as usual. We will get a few before the end of the season, we just need to continue to keep it very tight at the back - where we have been brilliant since the restart.

Looking at Birmigham, they look terrible and we must target them and go for their jugular all game. Unless they do a Jekyll and Hyde on us, they are definitely there for the taking, meaning a draw against Wigan would probably see us safe. I think 50 will be enough now, based on so many points being dropped over the last two rounds down at the bottom. Had thought it might be 52-53.

Widely acknowledged by people on a forum? So what.  Same people who said the exact same team was full of bad choices in our first game back which we won and they all then lauded Bowyer?  Teams lose, weak squads lose more, money talks.  We are where our budget dictates.

Lots of benefit of hindsight comments, lots of ignoring the 9 games in 25 days fact going hand in hand with an injury prone squad which means Bowyer has no option but to rotate.

Should Bowyer have made those subs v Brentford, in hindsight no, but had we held on and won and then had a fresh team to face Reading he would have been hailed a genius.

Seriously if fans can't get behind Bowyer and the players whom are giving their all then they need their heads looking at.

If you want to watch a team that wins and never gets relegated go join the millions of plastics out there and take your pick of the Big 4-6 snore fest clubs.
I want to watch a team whose response to going ahead is not 'defend for your life' and whose response to going behind is to keep Darren Pratley on for 84 minutes

So do I, I've back them for relegation at 100/1

Our GD is worse than Birmingham's, it would need a big win on Wednesday (4-0) for us to go ahead of them

    Birmingham is -17, ours -11.
  • Two ways of looking at this: one, Birmingham are so bad Stoke beat them. Two, now Birmingham are really in it and will have to wake up in time to play us and save themselves. We could get either, but I think we all know which one we're actually going to get. Let's just pray we turn up, score and then see what happens from there.
  • just had a look at the Birmingham forum to see what their thoughts are on this game and their chances against us and i notice a recent discussion about Bowyer becoming their next manager. i thought that was old news from one of their brummy local rags?
  • Leeds winning which is good for us. Want them with nothing to play for come our game.
  • 1-0 Leeds
  • Phew Leeds winning

Them drawing was leaving me worried they'd need to care more about their game against us than what they should
