  • I was thinking more that if Hull beat them and we win tomorrow then Wigan can't catch us.

I'm thinking a draw might be best.

I see a Wigan win tonight as the worst result for us.
  • Wigan to win... Sheffield to win.... QPR to win (never gonna happen).

BUT my bottom three looking at the fixtures is Barnsley, Wigan and Huddersfield or Hull.

Of course this is entirely predicated on us turning up tomorrow and winning plus getting a point on Saturday

    Sounds easy doesn't it!

No .....cos we know we are shit and we watch it with our own eyes
  • Could be a tough couple of days if Millwall win tonight and go sixth!
  • We need everyone around us to lose, other than when they play eachother where they can draw.

That's it. We're not going to do it this season on our own form we need sides to slip up.

Millwall play Huddersfield on the last day so probably better that they still have an interest in the playoffs.

Thanks for f*cking up any chance we had of getting a result ;)
  • I think our season will come down to tomorrows game, if we can be positive and win at Birmingham then I think we will be ok, lose and we are down, I really cant see us getting anything out of the Wigan or Leeds games. I may be wrong but I honestly think 3 points tomorrow will be enough

Form is nothing more than a record of what you've previously done on the pitch

It in no way shape or form dictates whats going to happen in future games

Is another useless "stat" that too many people rely upon

You lose 12-games on the trot dont mean your going to lose every game in the future does it?

Of course people can argue that whilst I state that people have nothing to base their negativity on, I've got nothing to base my positive attitude on and they'd be absolutely right

Its because no one can predict anything that is going to happen in the future so I question why be miserable over it?

Find it an odd and rather sad (not the pathetic kind) way for people to live
  • Beat Brum and don't lose to Wigan, that should be enough

Be positive tomorrow Bowyer, we're not playing Barcelona, we need to be on the front foot, creating chances and having shots, rather than hoping to "nick" a goal

Not sure it's quite that simplistic. Of course runs come to an end but generally speaking if you're in poor form it will affect confidence which is often reflected in performances.
  • Form is an important indicator of how well a team is playing at the moment, and thus more representative of how they will play tomorrow, than results 6 months ago. Of course it guarantees nothing, but taking an extreme example these 2 teams have the same number of points - I know which one I'd like to play!

Oh of course but every bad run of form has to come to an end eventually doesnt it? Sometimes it'll be the following season where a break and pre-season of change will help

Then for other clubs like you saw with Huddersfield this season, the hangover of constantly losing the last year will carry over into the next... But they did eventually win didnt they?

Thats my point, form does have an effect but it is a usless stat as sometimes its as simple as a tough run of games: Millwall (Derby) | Brentford (Chasing Promotion) | Reading (In form themselves) that causes the bad form

Other times it'll be a case of confidence being slowly effected, like what we saw in November when players reacted after the last minute goals from Huddersfield / Hull

End of the day though there is absolutely no formula, no approach even that can predict when a team will overcome that losing run or even run where they cant score at all

Its why I love this sport, its so baffling unpredictable, you never know what is actually going to happen

If it was a case where the best team ALWAYS won against the inferior side then I think I'd very quickly become bored with it, hence why when Liverpool / Man City play I more often than not dont bother watching

Reading had 5 points from 5 games since the restart before playing 7 points from 5 games Charlton
both teams only picking points up from the shit teams they played
well brum are currently shit 2 points from the 6 games since restart
    last 4 games we’ve nicked 1 point scoring 1 goal conceding 4
brum from last 4 games have nicked 0 points scoring 1 conceding 9

this is the battle of the shitness ....Both teams have more than enough to lose this fixture , it could even be worse than Hull v us , it didn’t happen in that fixture but could this be the first time ever both teams lose in the same fixture

    Form is temporary of course.

I just cannot see us getting out of this rut, without the class needed to score goals regularly at this level I feel we are at a disadvantage. Therefore we need the other teams to slip up.

My mood change has come out of frustration, I back our boys 100%. But they're giving it 100% and we're still losing games we should win because we just are not Championship class. I had hoped we would see some difference after the restart, but goals from Pratley & Pearce aren't going to get us out of this smelly stuff and you can't expect our slow ageing captain to do it all at CB and up top.

  • I want a Wigan win all day long
    This 100%
  • I want a Wigan win all day long
Why? That keeps them in it and gives them hope of survival before they play us
They will be in it regardless of the result and on the balance of play keeps Hull really in it.Surely we would prefer things in our own hands - beat Wigan and we should stay up
    This......200%

I couldn't give a flying fuck what they do. I hope they do win & gives them hope & momentum, seeing as they have Huddersfield on the last day of the season. Otherwise they will roll over & let them win  relegating us.
  • Beat Birmingham tomorrow and I don’t really care what other clubs do tonight.

What would maybe be best would be QPR beating Luton. Wigan and Hull draw.

That way, a win for us tomorrow and we go 3 points clear of Hull, 5 clear of Luton, and 6 clear of Wigan and Barnsley with 2 games to go.

We’d then need a point against Wigan and we’d be safe because of Hull and Luton playing at the weekend.
  • Cant work out if Wigan winning ir a draw is best tonight.

If Wigan win they are on 45 with games aginst us and Fulham left

If its a draw Wigan are on 43 and Hull would be level with us on 46 but would be behind us on goal difference
  • as long as Hull dont win

100% a draw tonight is best result for us. Wigan stay 3 points behind us at least and Hull are still below us on goal difference. They play Luton, both can’t win, and we play Wigan.

Unless you want to think that a Wigan win is best, so long as we then beat Wigan at the weekend. That way Wigan would be at least 4 points behind us with 1 game left. Barnsley are gone in my opinion. Then it’s about staying above one of Hull
or Luton who as said, play each other at the weekend.

I feel that a draw is definitely best for us. It’s the best way we manage to keep everything in our own hands.

Which they will. This is a Leeds side who brushed aside Stoke, who tore Barnsley apart.

Barnsley will lose to Leeds and Brentford. Means they can’t even catch us.

    You've done it now.
  • Lose track of these weird kickoff times!

Slightly surprised that the Millwall Blackburn game is a regular 7:45 kickoff, you'd have thought Blackburn would want to play the game earlier
  • Djiksteel starts for Boro.
