That was every bit as good as what we did to the likes of Pompey and Luton at the Valley last season just missing another goal or two.
Fantastic stuff, especially with the changes. Leko is a menace although they were dealing with him better as the half went on. Such energy and skill in midfield from Cullen and Gallagher. Ozzy looks class and so does field. Deji = Dijksteel, Purrington solid, and Lockyer and Sarr complimenting each other nicely and also looking classy on the ball. And Taylor... well... he's just the man isn't he?
Charlton lead 1-0, Taylor with his fourth goal in four matches.
Wow.
Just wow.
Lord Bowyer, Jacko, Gallen ... consider yourselves promoted to sainthood. These players you have brought to our club and the way that they're playing is astounding.
Forest have been given a footballing lesson. The movement of our front six, complimented by Deji down the right and Ben Purr on the left, has left the visitors tied up in knots. We've cut through them so easily it's been embarrassing.
On the rare occassion Forest have ventured down our end the defence have had things under control, the finest example being Lockyer's amazing last-ditch challenge that stopped a certain goal.
Anyone looking forward to Willo and Mount Chuks having a little run out for the last 15 minutes against a tired and demoralised Forest defence?
“Make no bones about it, Lyle Taylor has taken to the Championship like a duck to water.
The Charlton striker has his fourth of the season, glancing a header past Aro Muric from six yards out after meeting Jonathan Leko's cross flashed in from the right.
That goal came from a 22-pass move and the Addicks have a deserved lead.”
Outstanding first half from Charlton best football I've probably seen them play since the Prem days. Great performances from all of them but Oztumer is something special and all those doubting the selection changes on that showing were inviting grey hairs for no reason. Mind you hindsight is a wonderful thing. Another 45 minutes like that lads and we'll be making a lot of the big boys sit up and take notice COYRs.
That was a cracking half of football and we played some quality stuff but to those saying it's the best we have played in years let's not forget the second half v Luton last year!!
I'm astonished at how good we were in that first half. I can hardly believe the evidence of my own eyes. So many changes to the side yet they look like they've been playing together for years. Lee Bowyer is as close to a genius as it's possible to get in football.

It really was that good!
That's the best I have seen a Charlton team play for a long long time. To be honest I am gob smacked!
