  • Derby had 62% possession but only 4 shots at goal ... and a couple of those were late in the game.

With our 38% possession we carved out 10 shots at goal, 7 on target, 3 hitting the net.

What does a rugby ref say if a team is taking its time getting the ball out of a ruck? "Use it or lose it."

    Today we used it. Clinically.

Even better? It didn't look or feel like a smash-and-grab effort, that was thoroughly deserved. If anything the scoreline flattered Derby.

Great performance from the rip roaring Addicks. The defence was rock solid, allowing just one tame shot on goal from distance and a one -on-one blocked easily by Dillon.
What a blinder by Pratley. He was immense, making tackle after tackle and several interceptions. The higher up the League we go the more he seems to like it.
Sarr had another very good game, and his through ball for the first goal was sublime.
I happened to watch him all the way for his headed goal, rather than follow the flight of the  ball. He shrugged of his marker, and found himself free at the far post with just another Charlton player for company. Neat header.
Gallagher yet again showed what an exceptional player he is. He plays with so much energy, and controlled the midfield for much of the match. As many other will probably say his goal had the touch of the Beckham about it. What a player!
This team could go far. Bowyer got the set up right yet again today. What a manager!
Quick mention also for Macauley Bonne who was excellent throughout. He makes things happen, and clearly has an eye for goal. Will link up well with Taylor I think.

I think that's the best we've played this season. Made Derby look very ordinary. In all honesty we could (should) have had 5. Every player put in a shift today. The player marks is not going to be easy. Basically, all 8's with a 9 for the motm but that could be one of a few. What a problem to have.  :)
  • Another bogey side blown away!  Bonne is growing into this side. Defence solid as a rock. More interesting results and a last gasp victory for Brentford.
  • Absolute magic. Well played all. Darren MOTM for me, closely followed by Lockyer and Josh Cullen. What a goal by Gallagher. The dip he got on it was incredible.
  • Derby barely created anything all game, where as everytime we went forward I fancied us to do something.

How do we keep doing this on c.40% possession?

    Well done CAFC!
We put the ball in the net more often than our opponents... Possession literally means nothing.

Getting used to this lovely snug and warm feeling around 5 o'clock on a Saturday...

Well done LB and the lads.  If you beat the Spanners this year then unfortunately you will have missed out as I am no longer of child bearing age!

Listened on Valley Pass, we never sounded in any trouble, we took the game to them and kept on gong the whole 94 minutes. Excellent performance all round. Now if only we can get a takeover done, let Lee have a decent budget in January, offer Kyle what he wants and put him up-front with Bonne, how good could the 2nd half of the season be???? COYR's

One might say a Demolition Derby.

The value of wins over draws is evident once again - Derby have lost the same number as us this season but are now 6 points behind.
  • We played really well. Derby were proper shit. I didn’t think winning 3-0 at home could get any better, until someone text me the Millwall score.

In all honesty we've barely missed him. Not to say I don't want him back asap of course, but Bonne has exceeded everyone's expectations.

Great performance today, Pratley led from the back and what a midfield we have, goals across the pitch as well. It bodes well for the weeks ahead.

Derby were very poor today but we didnt let them play, looking forward to Wednesday night now.

Bow said in his press interview on Thursday, that he was going to tweak things to give us more attacking threat.

Amazing that he can see what's needed and with limited resources knows exactly how to achieve it.

If Darren Pratley was 10 years younger, he’d be the most wanted player in the league. He’s class
Never thought he'd be able to make the step up but he looks infinitely better than last season. Fully deserves that new contract.

I don't understand Darren Pratley's career arc. Did he just have a superior twin brother stored in an isolation tank?

Simple - possession doesn’t win football matches.

It's not just the younger players that Bowyer brings in and improves them.

Bow is improving even the veteran players.
I bet even Johnnie 'his legs have gone' Jackson is wondering if he retired from playing too soon.

Decent official crowd figures today at The Valley.

    Attendance:
    19,408
  • My hands are sore, don't recall clapping individual moments during a game so much.

They were shite don't get me wrong but can't take it away from the management and players.

What an effort from every man.
