The only problem I have with this is that we are helping improve another team's youngster, one that might help them best us next year as they try and bounce back.
  • Flipe Benkovic can go out on loan from Leicester if they sign vestergaard from Soton, would definitely be worth a look at. 6”4

This has been an underwhelming January so far.

Oh dear, that’ll get the bedwetters going. No money, chancers, Maddison bid was fake, frying pan fire, no better than RD etc.
Don’t think it will. From what I’ve seen, Idah would be a good signing
Of course it will. Teenager with barely any experience who plays for Norwich.
Yes, because our other inexperienced players that we got, like Cullen, Bielik and Gallagher, weren’t good

It's just a rumour. None of the other ones have come true so far.

With our crossing I'm not sure what use his height would be!! Can he learn to duck below the first man?

I’m saying that’ll be the reaction from some, not that it’s my opinion. We need signings to keep us up, permanent signings in some positions will probably have to wait until the summer.

Has Gallen’s role changed a bit? I always thought he was the one who negotiated the deals and he said the new title of DoF would help him have clout with other clubs when getting deals done.

But this from Bowyer suggests Matt’s taken on deal negotiation now:

‘The chairman has the list. It’s in his hands now.‘

So relegation would be a total and utter disaster for the club.

I’m glad we are throwing the kitchen sink at it and giving everything we have.....

In all honesty if we had Taylor till January, Hemed getting fitter and Bonne back I would rather spend the millions and billions of pounds that HE has set aside on a Gallagher replacement

The normal process (in my experience) is the owner sets the overall transfer budget, the DoF or Chief Scout working with the manager finds the players, and the CEO brokers the deal.

So it would be entirely reasonable and expected for Matt to broker the deal.

I think Gallen himself said so. He only used to negotiate deals because we didn't have a chief exec. Now he can focus on recruitment and leave the business side to the chairman.

Don’t think it’s a totally bad thing if MS is involved in negotiations. Being an ex agent, he will probably know what he’s doing

Posting without reading. I heard Pedro Chirivella could be joining on loan.

No further news on this one @Redhenry ?

BTW in case you're wondering about the exact pronunciation I'm sure you'll find this useful:

Pedro Chirivella Burgos (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾo tʃiɾiˈβeʎa] )
    no
Just read an interesting article on Pedro Chirivella. He's Liverpools longest standing foreign player and hes been at the club longer than every player except Henderson and TAA. Didnt realise he had such a tough year or so.

Apologies for the mickey mouse site

I remember in that Netflix doc Sunderland Till I Die, the CEO was reading through the scouting list and at the bottom of the list was Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Another one in the welmed camp. We already have Davison who us "young" & "raw". What we need is an experienced striker who knows the league......but not old & slow like Hemed. Someone aged between 25 & 30.....which I know costs money. Looks like the lists given to MS are running out of names.

And seeing as Norwich arent ripping up the Premier League you'd have thought that if he was any good at sticking the ball in the back of the net he'd be at least on the bench for them.

I still think there was something fishy around the Gallagher recall and top clubs aren't too keen on loaning us talent at the moment.

  • Well the last kid we signed on loan turned out alright - Nor can Idah be shit if Norwich were happy to play him in the Premier League

Certainly dont think its the standard we can expect for the rest of the window but it is a sign of the January Transfer Window and is why the owners should be given a summer to prove if they've got cash or not

After all take a look at the majority of names already sign by clubs in the top flight alone this month; Randolph (West Ham) - Robinson (Sheff Utd) - Benteleeb (Newcastle)

Not exactly names to get many fans excited for the future are they? - Gedson Fernandes is probably the biggest name and thats because he wasnt playing @ Benfica

Never heard of him from Adam in fact I have no Idah whatsoever who he is.

He looked class in the FA cup and would be really happy with him. Thought very highly of at Norwich and he’ll have lots to prove as he’ll want to be in their first team next year when they go down.

Don’t know what people are expecting. Bowyer and Gallen had the list of people they wanted before January to improve us. They’ve been excellent at spotting talent and knowing how they can improve our team. A front two of Taylor and Idah would be quick, strong and exciting. He’s only young so will probably be inconsistent but would be very happy to take him to the end of the season.

Not exactly marquee but definitely a good addition if this comes off. Raw pace will scare defenders. Need a dominant CB and playmaker.

Same person who mentioned JCH told me we are sniffing around Sam Morsy at Wigan. Nothing concrete but definitely interested

Might be a summer job, if Wigan go down for example we may go get him

Should the worst happen and we dont get Josh Cullen back then the likes of Mowatt and Morsy (the latter to replace Field) wouldnt be the worst start to the summer

Morsy would be good, good play breaker, been linked with a few clubs before, Brentford, Blades, Wednesday, Preston etc so he's definitely decent. Don't see it this window though, I checked and I think he is their captain and played every game so far this season.

As for Idah, with Taylor being back, so long as he stays this window and Bonne isn't too far off I guess that will do. We do need some better mids though that's where we need strengthening most, when Barnsley come here we can't be giving up 70% of the ball or whatever number it was, need to actually be the home side against them

With Cullen and Field coming back to fitness, I don’t think we need anyone else defensively at the moment. With the right protection, our defence is pretty solid (apart from set pieces).

Main improvement to remain in this league comfortably is quality in the final third. I think a striker and an attacking midfielder and we aren’t looking too bad.

Of course all the above is only applicable if everyone stays fit. So you can see why when ESI arrived they looked at the injury list and players returning and thought ‘okay we don’t need to go mad straight away’.

Reckon Maddison will sign, but probably on the 30th or 31st, he’s running out of options and Peterborough have moved on
