Mcgeady will give us the option to play with wingers, him and Green on the wings with Williams in behind Taylor
Can he not play the role at the top of the diamond? - Thought he was a bit like that
Yeah he can play in behind but just saying he gives us another option

Mcgeady hardly is a statement of intent if his ESI first signing, shafted by a L1 team and nearly 34

    @Swisdom - Usually a genuine ITK

McGeady is meant to be on 16k a week at Sunderland (not the 30k as quoted on here). I presume it’ll be a loan but not sure.

He just fell out with Parkinson. Doesn’t mean much. Bowyer fell out with Fosu and now he’s on his way to the 5th best team in the league.

No. He isn't a statement of intent, I think that's a fair comment.

    He is a footballer though.

Experienced player with a good pedigree I'm happy with McGeady even if only for the rest of the season. We need good seasoned pros rather than even more youngsters in addition to our own

    We're getting him back?

Could say the same about Adam Matthews and Jonny Williams...

First we take their place in the Championship - then we take their players :)

No issues with McGeady, thought he looked a threat against us and was glad we didn't have to deal with him for too long, felt he had the same presence/impact for Sunderland as Williams did us. We could do a lot worse than having those two running the channels looking for a goal, but we need more than him obviously

Would be surprised if we went for a highly paid 33-year-old with as terrible a disciplinary record as McGeady’s. His makes Bowyer look calm. Hang on...

Two things went our way for me in the Play-Off Final

Max Power got injured and McGeady wasnt fit enough - Had both played the full game, might have been a different story

I don’t care about statements of intent or marquee signings. I just want the players Bowyer and Gallen think are good enough to get in our team. History has proven they know what they’re doing.

Sunderland wanted someone to take him on loan and pay 10k a week of that, so maybe only costing Charlton around £160k plus a few add-ons for a loan until the end of the season.

He'd team up brilliantly with Twatt.
  • Most of us would have been happy with McGeady at the start of the season  . Maybe our expectations have risen with the new ownership  .

Signing McGeady would assume we could be shifting to a 4-2-3-1 formation more often. McGeady, Doughty, and Green all capable of playing wide, as is Williams.

We shall see, but certainly gives us that option to switch it up formation wise if we need to.

Maynard Brewer to Dover. Must mean we have a new keeper joining.
  • Personally think McGeady would be a cracking signing.  Appears I'm in the minority

Mmm, I hope we can play two up front still after the window shuts.

MS quaffs a luke warm 7-up and chuckles to himself... "This chairman stuff?  I've shit it!"

No, think it means Amos is fit.

I'd be well happy with McGeady.

One of the best two players in league one last year.

The other one we are trying desperately to keep hold of.
